A true puppet master. The name of the artist is Daniel on the streets of La Rambla in Barcelona, Spain.

Whoa, that's so cool! It looks alive!

49

u/smartguy1196 Jun 30 '22

Yeah, it's generally better when kids are, unfortunately.

229

u/Familiar-Tea-1428 Jun 30 '22

Kid’s more interested in the damn box.

52

u/jonitfcfan Jun 30 '22

It's just a cat inside a kid's body

7

u/AC4life234 Jul 01 '22

Who cares about the kids though, puppet shows like this are as interesting for adults now too

85

u/mayhemchaos Jun 30 '22

That is Passeig Lluis Companys, not the rambla, but yes that guy is there often and quite cool.

61

u/LuckyEmoKid Jun 30 '22 edited Jun 30 '22

"La Rambla" is just one street. Nice place.

50

u/Mr_B_86 Jun 30 '22

That is also not Las Ramblas, it is 'Promenade Passeig de Lluís Companys'

4

u/khublakhanquest Jun 30 '22

Man why does Luis get a whole street. 😔

15

u/Mr_B_86 Jun 30 '22

Prime minister and then captured by Nazis and executed by a dictator. Man got history!

2

u/khublakhanquest Jun 30 '22

I've got some lint and a thread I pulled off of my pant leg hem. What can i get for that?

7

u/Jewmangroup9000 Jun 30 '22

About tree fiddy

3

u/khublakhanquest Jun 30 '22

GAHT DANG LOCH NESS MONSTAH

6

u/cilmor Jun 30 '22

You can say "La Rambla" or "Las Ramblas", both are fine. It's one street as you said, but it has several sections, each of which is one Rambla (Rambla de Canaletas, Rambla dels Caputxins...).

1

u/EatMyCannolo Jul 01 '22

Cool, but this is not La Rambla or Las Ramblas anyway

Hey, just stating a fact. You're welcome ;)

1

u/cilmor Jun 30 '22

Just so you know, "Las Ramblas" is also fine, it's a single street with many sections, each of which is also a Rambla.

12

u/StaticSilence Jun 30 '22

This video ends way too soon

198

u/hunterfam55 Jun 30 '22

That's cool but he's not actually playing the piano

365

u/MrKnome Jun 30 '22 Helpful

Of course not, you can clearly see that the frog is the one playing it.

2

u/AzureTorin Jul 01 '22

Now, all we need is Michigan J. Frog to provide vocals along with the tune.

45

u/Thatswutshesed Jun 30 '22

Are you suggesting that frog is using a backing track?

5

u/NikolaiCello05 Jul 01 '22

I can't believe frog would betray us like this

48

u/joemeteorite8 Jun 30 '22

It’s still real to me dammit!!

13

u/AleixASV Jun 30 '22

Also that's not la Rambla, that's Passeig Lluís Companys.

6

u/conjectureandhearsay Jun 30 '22

Also, isn’t that a marionette?

24

u/Complete-Painter-518 Jun 30 '22

that's a high tech kit he got there

6

u/poopsididitagen Jun 30 '22

The kid's more interested in the dirt lmao

10

u/surge36028 Jun 30 '22

Who is going to tell OP?

17

u/chupacadabradoo Jun 30 '22

I’m just amazed at the tone of that tiny piano!

7

u/failingtolurk Jun 30 '22

Giveway that there’s a backing track. That piano wouldn’t sound that deep by a long shot.

7

u/kagenohikari Jun 30 '22

The puppet didn't really play the piano, it was a backing track.

13

u/chupacadabradoo Jun 30 '22

Aw shucks. I was just attempting one of them jokes. Can’t make ‘em all land

3

u/Kevman403 Jun 30 '22

“A” for effort my friend, keep up the good work

19

u/Sh00ting5tar Jun 30 '22

At this point I think it's easier to play the piano yourself.

17

u/BoomFrog Jun 30 '22

Yeah, and that's why this guy is in a video on the front page of reddit and random concert pianists are not.

2

u/Dt_Sherlock_Idiot Jun 30 '22

But the puppet clearly isn’t even playing that song on the piano.

2

u/Coorotaku Jun 30 '22

What's the fun in that

3

u/Chogolatine Jun 30 '22

Obey your master Your life burns faster OBEY YOUR MASTER MASTER

3

u/ProSidePiece Jun 30 '22

Barthelona

9

u/DildoBaggins0180 Jun 30 '22

And here I sit in front of my computer at work where I've been in the IT business for 20 years and can barely type.

5

u/C-ORE Jun 30 '22

wow so complicated and sophicated.....Great respect for this puppet master

2

u/Fmarulezkd Jun 30 '22

I'm not impressed, you can clearly see his hands and the strings... /s

5

u/G3laxyGamingYT Jun 30 '22

Master of puppets

2

u/zed_christopher Jun 30 '22

Now that’s the coolest skill I’ve ever seen on the street.

2

u/daring_duo Jun 30 '22

Does anybody know the name of the song?

6

u/LeftLegCemetary Jun 30 '22

"No" in C major.

2

u/em_i_l_y Jul 01 '22

Assumed the woman was videoing the puppetry. Nope, just videoing her crotch goblin as it does feck all.

2

u/itscalledANIMEdad Jul 01 '22

I was going to say this dude spent probably his whole life practicing a rare skill and creating a unique performance and this dipshit got cummed in once, got fat, had one painful day of labour, dumped out one of a billion other white babies and thinks that little turd is more impressive and interesting

2

u/da_Aresinger Jun 30 '22

When "just playing the piano" becomes so trivial, you need to add an additional level of ridiculous.

2

u/Longest_Inch Jun 30 '22

Man that’s cool af

3

u/Nnndfa1 Jun 30 '22

This is arch de Triumph not la rambla

1

u/OrdainedFury Jun 30 '22

This is about 10 orders of magnitude higher than what the word mastery defines. I don't have a word for it.

4

u/entmus Jun 30 '22

The word is decamastery

2

u/dawtcalm Jun 30 '22

its not really playing the piano

1

u/Speculater Jun 30 '22

Super mastery?

1

u/LeftLegCemetary Jun 30 '22

I don't know buy there's probably a shitty Polish joke out there that would clear things up.

1

u/Competitive_Ad_2421 Jun 30 '22

That guy has probably been doing this his whole entire life. I'm very impressed with this old school type of craft and would so love it if I saw this in person.

1

u/Dt_Sherlock_Idiot Jun 30 '22

I don’t understand how so many people are fooled at what is to me at least very obviously not real. That song is clearly not coming from that piano and there are several different things that give it away

0

u/DevonHess Jun 30 '22

I'm sure what he's doing is super technical, and maybe if I was a puppeteer I could fully appreciate it, but with a huge contraption like that strapped to him I'd expect a much more dynamic performance.

1

u/9hundreddollarydoos Jun 30 '22

I think if we all had guts like Malkovich we would all go into pupeteering - sean penn

1

u/LIKELYtoRAPhorrible Jun 30 '22

This guy here making me feel worthless with a puppet on a string

1

u/unclepaprika Jun 30 '22

How the hell do you keep those strings from knotting the fuck up?

1

u/TGov Jun 30 '22

John Malkovich had better watch out!

1

u/BAHfromMCO Jun 30 '22

Wow, some serious talent right there.

1

u/Im_a_doggo428 Jun 30 '22

The baby is more interested in the box than the puppet

1

u/HamsterElectronic119 Jun 30 '22

My screen is small so I can't see clearly but if he's playing the piano using a string puppet then he deserves everyone's wallets. Unbelievable

1

u/MaxCrack Jun 30 '22

“Daniel on the streets of La Ramba in Barcelona” is a long name.

1

u/juliamc95 Jun 30 '22

This is not la Rambla it's passeig Lluis Companys! Very interesting

1

u/Pdxperronn Jun 30 '22

We’re witnessing the death of a true art form

1

u/twinklyfoot Jul 01 '22

Kermit could never

1

u/Grumpus88 Jul 01 '22

I wasn’t scrolled down fast enough and thought the toddler was the puppet.

1

u/ikingarmaan Jul 01 '22

Amazing skilled artist 🤩

1

u/JMH5909 Jul 01 '22

I wanna donate this guy my ten fingers and two hands just so he can play more sophisticated puppets or couples

1

u/Sayset Jul 01 '22

Not actually playing but ok

1

u/StormRider790 Jul 01 '22

This is years Of hard work I am amazed

1

u/AzoYuki Jul 01 '22

Master Master

1

u/Disastrous_Staff_443 Jul 01 '22

When engineers get bored with their day job

1

u/mitr0m Jul 01 '22

This is not La Rambla bro. This is Paseo de Lluís Companys, next to Arc de Triomf.

1

u/dodgers_fan Jul 02 '22

You may not realize it, but that dude's training to be John Malcovich

1

u/Bender0426 Jul 02 '22

Simply amazing!

0

u/core_al Jun 30 '22

I always wondered if puppetry can ever be a serious art form. I suppose it's like video games. Some games are really really good but just are not recognized as art because they are 'playthings'
