Translation, "There was this guy I was checking out but before I got a chance to chat him up his phone rang and turns out he's taken. Damn. "

736

u/mermzz Nov 29 '22

This is what I was thinking too. He liv3s rent free in her brain while he doesn't know she exists at all.

191

u/Mista_Cash_Ew Nov 29 '22

Bold of you to assume this woman would ever make the first move

98

u/jackfaire Nov 29 '22

I looked at her screen name.

7

u/Sukerius Nov 30 '22

Yeah, we all did, but her thinking she's a big deal might be exactly why she doesn't make the first move lol

71

u/sonofmarley76 Nov 29 '22

She had never been rejected by a man and just the theory of it has her defensive and her being on top

14

u/flawedmentalist69_ Nov 29 '22

Thank you, I was totally blanking here

14

u/Smokerising420 Nov 29 '22

I mean she is a pretty big deal.

12

u/wtf0007 Nov 29 '22

Definitely not a narcissist

7

u/Much_Fee7070 Nov 29 '22

In her own head of course. But she's definitely gonna need to treat that BURN from Maayaa.

2

u/findhumorinlife Dec 01 '22

Well hey, my dogs think I'm a pretty big deal. And I holla that they are taken.

14

u/Altruistic_Rub_2308 Nov 29 '22

Thanks for that; I tried to decipher but just could not. I feel smarter for not being able to do so.

62

u/auntarie Nov 29 '22

translation of the translation: "There was this guy I was checking out but before I got a chance to let him chat me up, his phone rang and turns out he's taken. Dang."

She doesn't seem like the type to make the first move, probably more like stand in a corner eyeing the guy and then complain on social media about how clueless men are.

u/[deleted] Nov 29 '22

9

u/auntarie Nov 29 '22

I'm sorry, are we looking at the same post?

1

u/AjahnAnarchy Nov 30 '22

Yeah, you’re just making negative assumptions about a person you don’t know whom you’ve put into a made up scenario in your head. Haha

1

u/auntarie Nov 30 '22

if you say so

6

u/Urmomsfavouritelol Nov 29 '22

I really needed your translation thank you for your service.

4

u/Puzzleheaded-Heron91 Nov 29 '22

Is this like some NYC slang I can't understand cos I don't live in the US?

8

u/jackfaire Nov 29 '22

Just more she's clearly interested in the guy and when it turns out he's not available rather than just accept it she gets upset about it.

3

u/Puzzleheaded-Heron91 Nov 29 '22

No I meant whatever version of English was in that tweet. I understood this part

2

u/jackfaire Nov 30 '22

If you're talking about Holla it's short for holler as in call out to in this context she's expecting him to hit to hit on her.

7

u/LesterFreamonsWallet Nov 29 '22

He probably took one glance at those atrocious boobjob and ignored her the rest of the flight

4

u/Complete-Letter-4439 Nov 29 '22

I really appreciate people who can translate this grammar-less things that they call slangs to us laymen

7

u/FromDaBrooklynZoo Nov 29 '22

Slang has grammar, it’s just coloquial. If you’re not fluent in slang from a certain region it won’t make sense. Im sure you’ve probably got some phrases that wouldn’t make sense to me because we’re from different places.

0

u/ZeroX-1704 Nov 29 '22

I'm still confused lmao, how did you figure this out? Comparing this to the original tweet still doesn't make sense

7

u/jackfaire Nov 29 '22

Her screen name indicates a high opinion of he gerself

-1

u/ZeroX-1704 Nov 29 '22

I understand that, i'm confused on what "I dare him to try to holla and say he's "single"" even means in this context and how you figured out that it means shes annoyed that he is taken, because without it it's just a girl talking about some guy on a flight for some reason.

Sorry, this might be simple and i may be stupid lmao.

8

u/1997Luka1997 Nov 29 '22

She basically says "he's probably going to try to hit on me and say he's single (when I know he's actually taken because of the phone call)."

But why does she assume he will try to hit on her?

It's likely because she's the sort of self absorbed woman who believes everyone should fall for her.

And the fact she's MAD at the guy without him even doing anything might mean that she was just upset to see that he was taken and took out her anger by angry tweeting.

2

u/dmercer Nov 30 '22

What does “try to holla” mean?

5

u/jackfaire Nov 30 '22

To hit on her. "holla" is short for holler. To call out to her.

1

u/User28080526 Dec 04 '22

Try an spit some game to her chat her up

739

u/zilloneshot Nov 29 '22

She is an attention seeker.

172

u/dick-van-dyke Nov 29 '22

What a kind choice of words.

114

u/Due-Two-6592 Nov 29 '22

Errm she’s actually a pretty big deal

35

u/pekkhum Nov 29 '22

I only opened the comments to find and upvote this comment.

3

u/mmcmonster Nov 29 '22

I just assumed that it's someone who's okay with gaining 20kg during Covid.

6

u/d-cent Nov 29 '22

Are you trying to tell me that someone with the name on Twitter of kind of a big deal, is seeking attention?

395

u/The_worst_Version Nov 29 '22

But she’s “A Pretty Big Deal”

81

u/sladeshied Nov 29 '22

And her last name is actually Deal.

13

u/Embarrassed_Alarm450 Nov 29 '22

So if you marry her and change your last name you'll have to deal with her, the math checks out...

30

u/Someonefromitaly Nov 29 '22

Hi, my name is Aisha, it's actually a diminutive of A Pretty Big

6

u/parthpalta Nov 29 '22

Her entire e-personality belongs on r/upvotebecauseboobs (so far)

Not like I'm complaining, she's really pretty. But it really explains this entire situation well

18

u/TycheSong Nov 29 '22

A Pretty Big Deal: He's hot, I'm hot, so he's going to hit on me. I'm gonna stick my boobs out and cross my legs at an Insta-Angle for best effect. Omg, he's taken! What an asshole for planning to hit on me!

Guy: ...Should I get tacos or pizza for lunch? Wonder if they'd make me a taco-pizza. Bet that'd be bomb.

8

u/parthpalta Nov 29 '22

Guy: ...Should I get tacos or pizza for lunch? Wonder if they'd make me a taco-pizza. Bet that'd be bomb.

Also guy. Nice tits. Back to taco pizza

16

u/OniLewds Nov 29 '22

The Twitter buyout was also "A Pretty Big Deal" so I guess they have that in common

4

u/Odd_Entertainment629 Nov 29 '22

jesus christ that's really what she made her twitter handle huh

340

u/forced_metaphor Nov 29 '22

80

u/LawAndUsername Nov 29 '22

I mean… look at her name.

52

u/tw_72 Nov 29 '22

And her picture. She didn't use that pic to go un-noticed.

11

u/LawAndUsername Nov 29 '22

Yup. She might be a narcissist self centered bitch but ….. sign me up.

18

u/cheetapants Nov 29 '22

Coooonsequenceeees

4

u/LawAndUsername Nov 29 '22

Oh yeah. It would be a terrible choice after the fact.

3

u/Altruistic_Rub_2308 Nov 29 '22

Avoid at all costs!

9

u/Odd_Entertainment629 Nov 29 '22

They always say not to stick your dick in crazy but hey I ain't gonna tell u how to live your life

2

u/LawAndUsername Nov 29 '22

I know not to stick my dick in crazy, tell people not to do it, but the dick wants things the brain knows are bad.

Kinda like drunk me wanting stuff sober me knows are also bad.

I got great stories, some scars.

2

u/helpme_imburning Nov 29 '22

It sounds like you should work on your decision making skills lol

3

u/theenglishfox Nov 29 '22

In fairness it looks like her last name is "Deal"

171

u/htomserveaux Nov 29 '22

Half of twitter is just someone making up a person and getting mad at them.

46

u/Odd_Entertainment629 Nov 29 '22

Almost like a man made of straw...a "straw man" if you will.

-1

u/hendergle Nov 29 '22

I feel like straw man arguments get a lot of unnecessary hate. It's a perfectly good technique for conveying a point. Why should anyone care if the original situation ever existed or not? It's not like we're on a high school debate team or anything.

Logical fallacies are a part of everyday communication. A dumb part, sure. But if someone wants to make up shit and pretend it happened just so they can get imaginary internet points, that's OK with me.

I might not have felt that way in the past, but it's been a year of letting go for me. I'm a lot more forgiving of different styles of communication these days. I can't stop people from setting up arguments just so they can knock them down, so why should I even care if they do? I dunno. I guess I'm just not the internet policeman I used to be.

I guess you're not a software engineer

0

u/Dounce1 Nov 29 '22

lol, no I am not. Does “should address is it” mean something in engineer- speak?

25

u/Bigstar976 Nov 29 '22

Attention starved much?

24

Welcome to the internet, the place where people can win fights that no one else is having.

On tiktok you can watch people argue with themselves all day

17

u/MusksMuskyBallsack Nov 29 '22

She's a pretty big deal

Or so I've been told

9

u/DownvoteDaemon Nov 29 '22

Big, if true.

7

u/Chidoriyama Nov 29 '22

Huge, if real

4

monumental, if factual.

2

u/FreeBullet Nov 29 '22

sizable, if provable.

13

u/ArsePucker Nov 29 '22

Why the “black guy”?

Couldn’t just be a “guy”?

12

u/entity3141592653 Nov 29 '22

Nah she's trying to say something about black men. Hence the assumption that he might try to holler at her.

10

u/GODDESS_OF_CRINGE__ Nov 29 '22

I think she might need therapy. That size of an ego can drag you down to the bottom of the sea.

1

u/Spalding4u Nov 29 '22

The silicone doesn't help float either

10

u/Adorable-Strength218 Nov 29 '22

The arrogance of some women floors me.

21

u/captain_persuader Nov 29 '22

He doesn’t know that he dodged a bullet

7

u/eye_snap Nov 29 '22

I had a friend like this. She thought everyone was constantly hitting on her, every male student at our school, men walking down the road minding their own business, any male sales person, driver, delivery people, even his dads friends!

If anyone made eye contact with her, she would turn to one of us and say something like "Omg did you see that!?"

2

u/spudpunkin Nov 30 '22

Some people are just so into themselves.

8

u/Odd-Turnip-2019 Nov 29 '22

I'm trying to figure out the significance of him being black.. she finds it oddly important to mention his color..

1

u/WaffleStomperGirl Nov 29 '22

Don’t think too hard on it - she’s a moron.

6

u/trap__ord Nov 29 '22

Some people will intentionally sabotage themselves just for negative scenarios to play out so they can be a victim.

12

u/sladeshied Nov 29 '22

Why did she mention that he was black if she, too, is black? I just looked her @ up and she’s on two radio stations, in LA and ATL.

4

u/GuitarRzrDad Nov 29 '22

Her name says it all

3

u/weSine Nov 29 '22

Ok Lena Dunham

6

u/Alternative_Chola Nov 29 '22

“Don’t save her she don’t wanna be saved” j coles voice*

3

u/Longjumping-Arm7939 Nov 29 '22

Plot twist his last name is Doll and sisters legal first name is Baby

10

u/Gohanisbetter Nov 29 '22

She is so messed up on multiple levels. She likely just wishes guys were coming after her. Pathetic

3

u/[deleted] Nov 29 '22

That post gave me a stroke

3

u/ddmnwlkng_ Nov 29 '22

Every time I see this I always wonder why it’s relevant that he’s black

2

u/Lvanwinkle18 Nov 29 '22

Well you know she is a pretty big deal…

2

u/Equivalent_Metal_534 Nov 29 '22

There are a lot of people with imaginary fuses in their heads, waiting for any match.

2

u/vauhnphillips Nov 29 '22

Classic narcissist.

2

u/RealLifeSuperZero Nov 29 '22

Ahhh the old Lena Dunham maneuver.

2

u/daxxarg Nov 29 '22

She got an r too many in her user name

2

u/Competitive-Dot-6594 Nov 29 '22

I'm not your dear, honey.

2

u/HandspeedJones Nov 29 '22

This is just telling on yourself.

2

u/ThisLet9363 Nov 29 '22

Her name........... yeah

2

u/Serial-Diarist Nov 29 '22

It seems almost everyone projects delusional judgments based on conjecture, all the time.

People get mad at me for using words they don't understand.

2

u/TruthIsFalsemusic Nov 29 '22

It’s called anxiety and insecurity maayaa. Can’t all be perfect

2

u/peachygrit Nov 29 '22

To think this is one thing, to tweet it is literally insane

2

u/rare_meeting1978 Nov 30 '22

I love that it was a woman calling out another woman on her b.s. attitude.

10

u/SysyNothing Nov 29 '22

woman☕️

5

u/earthscribe Nov 29 '22

So many bitter queens out there

3

u/Wonthebiggestlottery Nov 29 '22

I literally couldn’t understand what she said. As a result, the response also appears unintelligible.

2

u/Different-Muscle-288 Nov 29 '22

Oh I’m sure she’s fine. She’s just been pretty for too long, is full of herself, and has a shit opinion of men. Not uncommon

2

u/jeffend1981 Nov 29 '22

Is this what all 20 somethings are like?

-4

u/Mysterious_Bonus_771 Nov 29 '22

Well its made up....the username "a pretty big deal" tells me this is made up bait to get people up in arms and spread it around. Pretty clever actually because there are definitely narcissistic people like this out there who react to things this way.

12

u/Odd_Entertainment629 Nov 29 '22

Wait so by your own admition there are people like this out there but this particular one couldn't possibly be one of them because their username is also narcissistic?

0

u/Mysterious_Bonus_771 Nov 29 '22

Well idk i just figured cause the username is "a pretty big deal" maybe wishful thinking.

-6

u/AjahnAnarchy Nov 29 '22

Easy, she’s racist as shit.

7

u/smellsfishie Nov 29 '22

I guess you could be racist against black people if you're also black but what did she say that was racist?

1

u/AjahnAnarchy Nov 30 '22

The assumption that the Black man next to you is about to, not only hit on you, but lie about being single when he does is a little racist, no?

1

u/smellsfishie Nov 30 '22

No, more sexist than racist. But bringing up his race seemed a bit excessive so I can see why you saw it that way.

1

u/AjahnAnarchy Nov 30 '22

Something tells me she wouldn’t have made the same tweet had she seen a white guy texting his cutie-pie or whatever.

1

u/smellsfishie Nov 30 '22

Why? Because she's black?

1

u/AjahnAnarchy Dec 01 '22

Because she’s operating with inappropriate stereotypes. Mentioning his race shows she’s using racial stereotypes.

1

u/smellsfishie Dec 01 '22

No, it doesn't.

-13

u/Money_Cap_8541 Nov 29 '22

That’s called feminism

1

u/smellsfishie Nov 29 '22

This shit looks made up.

1

u/MarkMindy Nov 29 '22

The real pandemic.

1

u/Be_That_Guy_ Nov 29 '22

1

u/DraakjeYoblama Nov 29 '22

His phone rang on a flight?

1

u/_BeansNbryce Nov 29 '22

Fuck I do that all the time.... I'm outta there then

1

u/Apprehensive-Donkey7 Nov 29 '22

Ugh. So many awful people.

1

u/Parker4815 Nov 29 '22

Dont phones have to be disconnected on a flight?

2

u/BethMD Nov 29 '22

Yeah, they have to be in airplane mode but people flout the rules all the time. Plus, we don't know if they were already in the air when this occurred. Maybe they were still boarding.

1

u/th3_dud3_abide5 Nov 29 '22

Probably never happened. Attention seeker needs fake Twitter likes to somehow maintain relevance.

1

u/YourPlot Nov 29 '22

The real question is why didn’t this dude have his phone in airplane mode?

2

u/syrdeezy Nov 29 '22

Because in this lady’s nonsensical speculation, we’re allowed to use our phones on airplanes, I guess…

1

u/IAmAPaInInYourasS Nov 29 '22

I mean, women are mad at men because their men cheat in their dreams.

1

u/AsparagusAbject3289 Nov 29 '22

big titties are used to getting attention from every male.

1

u/SeaworthinessOne2114 Nov 29 '22

I guess having big breasts doesn't always get you what you want. She has to be conceited to believe every man desires her. I hope he and Baby Doll are in a loving relationship.

That's the problem with your whole garbage generation, you impose your bullshit on everyone around you. No body gives a shit, no body wants to see your shitty tiktock, be quiet and be ineffective online which is all any of you are fucking good for. 🤠

6

u/ADerp2Hard Nov 29 '22

I was a little curious and saw a couple of your other comments.. your really fuckin mad, hope you aren't reactive like that irl. Just saying, it's not the only respawns but I'm sure you've your reasons.

Not truly specific to this scenario, but…Shoot your shot regardless. Your “soul mate” just might be dating the wrong person at the moment. I’m not assuming anything. She can let me know if she’s taken or not interested.
