The real unexpected is seeing a post that contains something genuinely unexpected.

Every now and again some dummy will include the "unexpected" part in the title.

Good times.

u/marijuic3 Jul 01 '22 edited Jul 01 '22

That hope will die fast. Most post are explained in the title, or totally forseeable.

Except that it's staged. How bad is that acting lmao.

61

u/phazedoubt Jul 01 '22

It was staged, but the sign falling was not. That was genuine surprise. Those over exaggerated hand gestures were for the camera. It also looks like he knew the woman in the street because they all had the revelation look you get when you realize someone you know almost died.

103

u/DKMOUNTAIN Jul 01 '22

That empty cardboard box was absolutely dropped from someone off screen. This whole thing is clearly staged.

29

u/TurnsTheLightsaber Jul 01 '22

Yeah, he starts walking very specifically to the women on the street and then the sign drops. And traffic must be blocked because not even one car stops in front of the lady.

18

u/dirtballmagnet Jul 01 '22

And the cardboard box bounces eighteen inches in the air, and I'm pretty sure I can see a tape line running down the middle of it.

11

u/RedMenace82 Jul 01 '22

That cat’s a really good actor, though.

5

u/Down_The_Black_River Jul 01 '22

I'm so glad someone else appreciated his performance, because I was captivated!

38

u/wefwefwefwesdss Jul 01 '22

but the sign falling was not... when you realize someone you know almost died.

Whatever that was it didn't weigh anything, nobody was dying... Honestly it looks like an empty cardboard box and is probably 100% part of the bit...

33

u/galactixo Jul 01 '22

The cat isn't staged

21

u/siluah Jul 01 '22

Duh that's the director.

Also, nearing the end, that really slow zoom-in-to-enhance-the-drama effect the cameraman used.

Totally staged.

Can we just talk about how there's like 18 things going wrong throughout this video? It was almost comedic by the time the cat walked out into the street.

Edit: This rapidly became my most upvoted comment so far and I have no idea how. Also, I'm not sure why so many people seem to think it's some huge conspiracy whether or not the video is scripted. Doesn't change the content of the video. Enjoy life a bit more!

658

u/sleep_comprehensive_ Jul 01 '22

The sign was unexpected but I’m completely baffled by everything else. It looks like he’s trying to say don’t help her and then a few minutes later he kisses the woman in the road on the head.

Can anyone explain what’s going on.

305

u/Kingca Jul 01 '22

The sign fell and he just saw his entire life flash before his eyes. He’s kissing her like “if it weren’t for you I would’ve still been standing there.”

156

u/LightningJC Jul 01 '22 Faith In Humanity Restored

Yeah I guess that’s the only thing that makes sense. Now let’s all stand in the very busy road and contemplate what just happened.

Possible he was mad from arguing but then after the fact that lady's misfortune made him miss being hit he saw her as some kind of guardian angel, some cultures can think that way but I'm just wild guessing

50

u/birdguy1000 Jul 01 '22

They set up a camera, someone said action, and then a cardboard box fell.

33

u/LightningJC Jul 01 '22

Honestly I’m leaning this way too, people keep saying it’s a sign but by the way it hit the ground I’d go with cardboard box.

I think he realizes that if the old lady hadn't been there, he would've been toast had he stood in that particular spot for much longer. The kiss seems like it's a gesture of gratitude cause she unexpectedly saved his life.

18

u/noettp Jul 01 '22

There's so much going on in this video!?!?! What are they arguing about? Why is that lady so idle in the middle of a road? Where did the cat come from? What the fuck just fell from the sky? His turn in attitude! Why is no one concerned about the road!

3

u/sammich_bear Jul 01 '22 edited Jul 01 '22

I'm calling BULLSHIT.

This seems staged. There's a lot going on off-cam, but I imagine there's a car parked in the right lane, to the left of the camera, to keep the lane protected for the woman with the cane. Then this sign falls from off-screen, and it even bounces (which indicates to me it's not very heavy). The dude's mannerisms are over-exaggerative the entire time, but esp. at the end of the discussion. WTF was this camera even supposed to be filming? This seems to be another one of those weird virtue-signalling fetish videos about Americanised karma at worst.

At best, it's some dude with emotional issues, borderline sexually assaulting a stranger who has mobility issues, out of euphoria (which never fucking happens!).

3

u/CnCz357 Jul 01 '22
