How is it not? I still hear about people getting trampled to death every year during black friday

12

u/squeegeeboy Sep 25 '22

That hasn't been a thing for the last four years. Once the issues started appearing online with the store names attached, it was a massive liability.

Now the line ups are gone from COVID and online door crashers. If they do physical store sales, the deals are now ticketed outside in advance.

There's no more rushing now.

Idk seems like it only stopped in 2019 for COVID then proceeded on schedule after.

I most definitely still see the waves of people storming a store. But maybe that's because I am in Florida and our COVID restrictions are less severe.

He's probably fired for standing on that.

Nah, I worked at target for a year and it was pretty common for the manager to stand up on a belt and address the morning team like that. Especially around the holidays.

Target is one of the most "corporate happy" places you can work. They try so hard to be upbeat and fun, it comes off as dystopian sometimes.

9

u/iamthatbitchhh Sep 25 '22

Believe me when i say every company does this horseshit. At least you don't have to sing a corporate song... Aka Home Depot in the 90s

u/Queeg_500 Sep 25 '22

Good to know target are happy for their staff to walk all over the one place every customer has to put their food.

8

u/collaredzeus Sep 25 '22

If they are doing things right they should be cleaning those belts regularly enough it shouldn’t matter

5

u/Glaucaa Sep 25 '22

from my experience working @ grocery stores. the belt is cleaned regularly between customers. don’t want to cross-contaminate items.

16

u/Creepy-Solution Sep 25 '22

Should have sparta kicked the juicy fruit

18

u/iredditoninternets Sep 25 '22

Well damn, I'm fired up now.

u/SetInMuhWayze Sep 25 '22

That dude bleeds Target red.

I just bleed regular red.

We are not the same.

5

u/meco03211 Sep 25 '22

He's even got the red shirt so you won't see him wounded. Or if he shits himself...

11

u/FyuuR Sep 25 '22

No one there is paid enough to care that much.

12

u/mr207 Sep 25 '22

I was waiting for the conveyer belt he forgot to turn off to kick on.

5

u/myperfectmeltdown Sep 25 '22

Now THAT would have been a moment!!!

10

u/buildingbuildareeno Sep 25 '22

Sounds like you need a union

23

u/Dunsparces Sep 25 '22

... and then he slipped climbing down from the register and was let go due to failure to comply with safety procedures.

20

u/poundmyassplz Sep 25 '22

“This is a family” aka we’re making you leave your actual family on thanksgiving to sell crappy tvs to scalpers

2

u/myperfectmeltdown Sep 25 '22

Weren’t they closed on Thanksgiving?

28

u/IDoPokeSmot Sep 25 '22

But I put my bananas on that conveyor belt

40

u/fartjar420 Sep 25 '22

6

u/IDoPokeSmot Sep 25 '22

1

u/Unkuni_ Sep 25 '22

wdym by that? isn't that how everybody eats their banana?

1

u/Hot_Pomegranate7168 Sep 25 '22

Yeah, I prefer kiwi fruit. It's like biting into an unwrinkled scrotum.

3

u/Ok_Storm_8533 Sep 25 '22

How’s he gonna get down?

3

u/LouisSaintJust1789 Sep 25 '22

Good Lord, these people need to fucking union…

6

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

He got a Hank Hill booty lmaoo

4

u/highlyvaluedmember Sep 25 '22

This guy takes working at Target way too seriously.

2

u/SilverSheepherder641 Sep 25 '22

Are his suspenders hooked to his underwear?

2

u/WonderfullWitness Sep 25 '22

best strategy would be to unionize, can't fight by yourself

2

u/Intransigient Sep 25 '22

Kind of belongs in r/sadcringe

2

u/JokerPhantom_thief1 Sep 25 '22

Can he be our leader I trust him the most

1

u/WonderfullWitness Sep 25 '22

never trust a manager

4

u/listsoffury Sep 25 '22

These comments make me sad. I would much rather have a manager who did this, who took a little time out of his day to make things fun, than someone who vanilla. We all know it's just target, but if that's what you've got, then might as well make the most of it.

1

u/JennySparklezz Sep 25 '22

This is way more cringe that anything…

1

u/AdVisible8796 Sep 25 '22

Cringe is running rampant through my veins after watching this

1

u/c2srq Sep 25 '22

Squad leader at the Medieval Fair delivers at TarJay.

1

u/EntertainerDouble383 Sep 25 '22

Sign me up. I want to work there with meetings like that.

1

u/kidhayden Sep 25 '22

Any moment now at least three of my shirt buttons will be breached !!!!!

1

u/MangoZaurul Sep 25 '22

That's a damn fine gunt you've got there...

1

u/polkmydot Sep 25 '22

Used to work at Target. Was talking to the store owner. Old lady asked the store owner where’s this item is at. He said, not in stock, it’s a seasonal item. I said, dude, it’s right behind you. Old lady said thanks, store manager said, guess it’s that season.

1

u/Mr_Deepuuhhlsnoopp Sep 25 '22

I would work overtime on that dude's shift.

1

u/almighty_ruler Sep 25 '22

I wanted to see the dismount :(

0

u/myperfectmeltdown Sep 25 '22

While pretty funny the whole belt action is disturbing me.
