Before I got clean I knew dudes who did this, they had one dude cause a huge scene somewhere and then the point man would grab tons of power tools and book it. Then he would pawn the ill gotten goods for dope money.

66

u/AnotherAustinWeirdo Sep 25 '22

Occam's razor, right here

44

u/Scottche Sep 25 '22

Quite, when your whole life revolves around the biological imperative of getting well, that’s relieving the symptoms of withdrawal, you create some very interesting gambits for the procurement of your remedy.

22

u/Damianos_X Sep 25 '22

It is so interesting the change in language for drug use when the users aren't black.

13

u/estranged_donkey420 Sep 25 '22

Almost makes it sound noble and heroic rather than desperate and destructive just by using obfuscating words.

13

u/Damianos_X Sep 25 '22 edited Sep 25 '22

Exactly. Not to mention how they're framing the life of crime they lived: "Interesting gambits" 🥴

It’s funny until you have to go to court for assault charges and you end up with a criminal record over something stupid

265

u/ILLstatic23 Sep 25 '22

what are you in for? ah you know, i threw a pumpkin at some asshole in home depot

26

u/bubblegumpandabear Sep 25 '22

I saw a streamer playing some kind of matching game on a prison website where you had to match the weapon they used to assault someone to their mug shot. I would never get the pumpkin right, I think.

41

u/thorpbrian Sep 25 '22

Chances are pretty good this guy already has a criminal record.

22

u/DryeDonFugs Sep 25 '22

I'm guessing by his wardrobe this guy is a known theif at this establishment and lost prevention was taking pictures of him to add to his profile and dude releazi3d it and flipped out because he needs a fix and that won't happen without any stolen merchandise to trade

13

u/designdesigndesign11 Sep 25 '22

What is it about his wardrobe that makes him stand out?

13

u/StereoOnCookingBacon Sep 25 '22

He’s dressed like a caricature of a weekend-project-dad with the man purse and white socks. Dude thought his Regular Shopper Guy disguise would make security ignore him. When they recognized him and threw him out, he threw a gourd tantrum.

2

u/LocAlchemy Sep 26 '22

A gourd damn tantrum

2

u/StereoOnCookingBacon Sep 26 '22

Oh that’s better than my comment!

3

u/DryeDonFugs Sep 26 '22

The biggest give away are the giant shades trying to cover his face. Then it's quite obvious his arm isn't bothering him and he probably thought the bandage would make him seem like he isn't a threat. I can't figure out the logic behind wearing a casual first mate sailor outfit into home Depot when trying to blend in other than dudes an idiot which seems plausible.

I know a girl who became a felon at age 17 for throwing an orange off of a bridge.

21

u/hostile65 Sep 25 '22

Chances are he was already stealing since he mentions they took his picture.

Thieves hate their picture being taken because it makes stealing harder at times because of employees recognize them they can stop them, call the cops, trespass them, etc. The stores LP will often alert other local stores as well, and some LPs with different companies LPs to share stuff like this.

When I was in high school my friend disappeared for like 2 or 3 weeks or so and I finally saw him again and asked where he’d been. He said come over after school and I’ll show you. I showed up and this mother fucker had been building a full size trebuchet and had begun launching pumpkins at the elementary school across the neighborhood. I could see all the smashed pumpkins up on the roof and he launched one to let me see it in action. I got kinda nervous cause I was pretty sure we weren’t allowed to do that and he told me to calm down so then we went and smoked. Like 40 minutes later we’re in his garage and someone starts beating the front door down. It’s the cops, and they wanna know if he’s been shooting pumpkins at the school. They let him off pretty easy tbh but told him to clean it up and if he did it again it would be some serious shit. Months later some crack head tried to use the trebuchet to lift an engine out of a car and destroyed it but it was pretty sick while it lasted

the thought process of getting upset at a store, seeing pumpkins outside and just.. throwing them in the store? is objectively fucking hilarious

166

u/meatsack_backpack Sep 25 '22

He even seems to have lined up his ammo outside the door hahahaha, it’s unarguably hilarious

35

u/purple_panda36 Sep 25 '22

Literally! This was a premeditated act and I couldn’t be laughing harder!

12

u/StereoOnCookingBacon Sep 25 '22

Totally premeditated. So, we all agree that his buddy just walked out the other door with a cart full of power tools, right?

5

u/cheesy05 Sep 25 '22

Most likely lmao, I used to see people try the same things when I worked at Canadian tire as a teen.

Your dad's filming him and the pumpkin thrower is upset at the other for filming.

It amazes how selective these people are. They know their attempts are futile. They know everyone has a cell phone yet he thinks throwing some pumpkins will end it all.

53

u/olivetrees420 Sep 25 '22 edited Sep 25 '22

Because OP’s dad is right there and he would actually have to confront him if he wanted to talk shit. This dude isn’t looking for confrontation he just wants to make noise from a distance and act tough before leaving.

2

u/teapoison Sep 25 '22

Maybe he just wanted to chuck pumpkins at people. Looked pretty fun honestly

30

u/blackkristos Sep 25 '22

And the dad just laughs at the end...

2

u/hostile65 Sep 25 '22

One might be a loss prevention for the store, manager, etc and having his picture taken makes stealing harder for many reasons.

Update: Filmed yes not caught. Poor wording for sure.

To all the people mad he didn’t do anything other than film. He’s a old dude, he’s not going to physically intervene. He got evidence on tape for when the cops came and arrested the dude. That is absolutely his “I’m nervous” laugh and not the hearty chuckle some of you think it is.

He showed me the video and I said “yo that’s crazy can I show this to the internet” he didn’t film this to go viral or whatever, he filmed it for evidence.

I get it y’all it’s not a good situation. No one got injured thank god and the cops did come take care of this guy.

2

11

u/U_PassButter Sep 25 '22

I meannnnn, what was he supposed to do? He got evidence for the store. If dude is unhinged enough to chuck pumpkins, what else is he capable of?

1

u/twoscoop Sep 25 '22

Why is he standing next to him if he is so worried?

5

u/U_PassButter Sep 25 '22

Standing nearby and intervening/trying to stop him are 2 different things. If he had told him to stop or tried to stop him, that could have easily escalated the situation.

What would you have done differently?
