An edit I made from some footage of recent uprising in Iran. Reports says that +50 protesters have been shot dead. If our government shuts down the internet and doesn't want the world to know about us, you be our voice and stand with us. Thank you 📌Follow Up

Look at this shit r/ProIran. There's no end to these sons of bitches. The whole sub is based on misinformation, and we're trying to bring it down by reporting it. Spread the word however you can. Cheers
Nice edit btw :))

u/potsandpans Sep 25 '22

god damn these people sound like the religious nut jobs we have in the states

15

u/HangingWithYoMom Sep 25 '22

A lot of the people on there aren’t even Iranian or are just religious bigots.

What’s refreshing is that r/Iran is the biggest Iranian sub and people are actually reasonable there.

11

u/Kashik Sep 25 '22

r/Iranian is like this as well. Many see this as an unrest instigated by foreign powers..

6

u/wanglubaimu Sep 25 '22

r/Iran is the proper sub. /Iranian is run by dictatorship supporters, iirc they started it after being pissed that /Iran doesn't silence atheists and liberal voices.

3

u/Silverfin113 Sep 25 '22

Well /r/iranian is calling the security forces bastard idiots and suggesting to install TOR...

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.

It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.

Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.

Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

2

u/Kashik Sep 25 '22

It seems the tone is changing. There were posts about were people where defending parts of the regime and blaming the protesters, some suggested they're paid foreign agents.

0

u/AmariCoopaTroopa Sep 25 '22

Banning is silly and makes you a fascist. I support this protest movement but you don't win arguments by silencing political opponents.

2

u/Hellicopter-666 Sep 25 '22

Political opponents? Do you seriously consider them that? They are fascists supporting a literal dictatorship. Your tolerance for fascism is what got people into these messes in the first place.

Godspeed to all brave Iranian standing against the regime. Everyone deserves a government that serves them, and no one deserves a government that they must serve.

I spent longer than I'd like to admit trying to figure out why Spotify seemed to be playing Pink Floyd.

4

u/Friendly_Job1890 Sep 25 '22

countries with these leaders haven't been able to listen to western music for a very long time. Im sure they are shocked at the sound of Pink floyd and love it.

5

u/MyNameIsNonYaBizniz Sep 25 '22

As much as I hope that this could create a better Iran, I am skeptical that it would go all the way.

Iran had quite a few protests before and nothing ever come of them, right?

1

u/Electronic_Ad5481 Sep 25 '22

Very true. I’m the end the state is armed and has control over all services. Only if Iranian civil society is involved can a revolution work, but most of civil society is chosen by the regime.

11

u/betazoid1000 Sep 25 '22

The bravery of the Iranian people really stands in stark contrast with the cowardice of the Russian people.

1

u/FiringOnAllSyllables Oct 13 '22

As well as all the American people who can’t realize they are stronger together instead of fighting each other because they share the same enemy. But none of them are strong enough to do what needs to be done because then they would have to stop thinking being right is more important than the future and greater good.

u/Dina_Hester Sep 25 '22

Such moving and powerful footage. May those fighting for freedom and rights continue to find strength in numbers. A single voice may sound like a whisper, but united voices becomes a battle cry that can’t be ignored! ❤️ I, personally, thought the selection of music enhanced the message. I’m completely in awe of the fearlessness displayed by the amazing people of Iran! May those that have lost their lives rest in eternal peace. 🙏

why is pink floyd being played over this?

17

u/tawwha Sep 25 '22

Because of the beautiful story of the wall album? Or the fact that roger waters supported iranian in a 5 minuted video yesterday and spread our voice:)

-2

u/vaultdweller1223 Sep 25 '22

why not?

18

u/BobAFeet34 Sep 25 '22

i love pink floyd but it just feels out of place lol

It's honestly artistic as hell, and it fits and feels like home

2

u/cannibowlistic Sep 25 '22

Fuck waters and his pro russian ass

2

u/wanglubaimu Sep 25 '22

Pink Floyd is somewhat popular in Iran, many Western rock bands in general are. OP probably didn't mean anything by it, just thought the song was fitting. I personally think it's a touching edit.

Roger Waters has lost it in recent years, you're right, but that's another story. I honestly don't think he even knows what he's saying half of the time, he just seems confused.

4

u/Affectionate_Bar2519 Sep 25 '22

its the perfect song for this.

0

u/vaultdweller1223 Sep 25 '22

It did make it feel a bit like an 80's movie.

Could do without the heavy metal music. footage of these types of events should never have any background music/sounds to influence an audience/viewer. It should be in its most unedited raw purest form so that the intense graphic nature of these events can be grasped without any outside afflictions

14

u/vadvaro10 Sep 25 '22

Heavy metal?! Lol

2

u/PutridWorkin Sep 24 '22

u/Maxwell_is_god Sep 24 '22

All of the injsustuces mentioned before and economic issues that made Iran a powderkeg.

Sanctions from the US played a major role that has been massively overshadowed by the sheer brutality of the Iranian government.

2

u/Effective-Cap-2324 Sep 25 '22

While sanction has effect the brutality of islamic goverment is what broke the camel back.

0

u/el_dirko Sep 25 '22

1

u/Trick_College2491 Oct 08 '22

-5

u/Used_Farm144 Sep 24 '22

can we get a no-iran filter????

-1

u/Piwkos Sep 24 '22

usa via CIA make another "democratic" uprise? poor Iran.

1

u/Hellicopter-666 Sep 25 '22

So the thousands, perhaps millions across the country protesting are all CIA spies? They can't just be massively oppressed by their dictatorship for generations and finally snap? No, of course everything has to be about the US.. smh
