Oi op!!

This is Germany! Not Iran!

5

u/Bobbydeerwood Sep 25 '22

I was wondering how she smuggled that flag into Iran and was thinking ‘RIP’. But never mind to both those thoughts

40

u/your_moms_salty_lips Sep 25 '22

Easy mistake to make

12

u/wanglubaimu Sep 25 '22

Typical Teheran Karstadt in the background ;)

4

u/the_don_lad Sep 25 '22

Not really, they don’t look anything alike

15

u/Needs_a_compliment Sep 25 '22

Yes, to clarify, these are Iranians in Germany holding the protest.

1

u/BlaiddTheHalfFloof Sep 26 '22

Change the Title.

2

u/Needs_a_compliment Sep 28 '22

Can’t edit titles on reddit

237

u/Root125 Sep 25 '22

This is not in Iran, it seems in Sweden or Netherlands that Iranian supporting their peoples.

98

u/mcdolgu Sep 25 '22

Germany. Karstadt is a department store chain here.

31

u/CosmicCosmix Sep 25 '22

Not Iran.

16

u/AlesusRex Sep 25 '22

Bruh? This is not Iran

22

u/redux44 Sep 25 '22

I mean this in the nicest way, but if the LGBT flag gets associated with the protest movement, it's a win for the Iranian government.

2

u/drmlol Sep 25 '22

super curious why?

25

u/redux44 Sep 25 '22

Iranian society is much more liberal than their government but not liberal enough to be pro LGBT at this point (think US society a few generations ago).

Being pro lesbian, gays, and trans will make it easier for government to brand their opponents as radicals and enemies of Islam. And many who would otherwise hate the government would be turned off if the movement were seen as being this socially radical.

5

u/Chibsie Sep 25 '22

I support this fully but why would you cut your hair off? Isn't the point to show your hair under the hijab?

143

u/luigiinit Sep 24 '22

Rock on!!! Fuck this broken system ✊ More power to the women of Iran!!!!

4

u/BiG_NeRd_BoY Sep 25 '22

More power to the women of Iran yes, but this is not in Iran unfortunately

-1

u/unique_plastique Sep 25 '22

Yes, however yes but it’s still a protest for women of Iran- they are the focus

75

u/Conscious-One4521 Sep 24 '22

This woman just causes millions of old orthodox islamic religious nutcases to have their head explore. Good! More of these! Trigger them all!

31

u/CatsAreDoughs Sep 25 '22

I'm Muslim and even I'm tired of their bullshit. Almost every religious person I have met in my life is a complete narcissistic asshole.

12

u/Sir_Keee Sep 25 '22

It's always the zealots who believe they are the voice of God who are the problem. Ruins things for the rest of us no matter who you are.

1

u/Prestigious_Dream_65 Sep 25 '22

As someone who was raised Christian, ditto

2

u/38384 Sep 25 '22

Same here. Still proudly Christian but I absolutely hate speaking to those organizations because many of them are twisted with hate.

2

u/Prestigious_Dream_65 Sep 26 '22

I’ve genuinely met Christians that have told me it’s a “blessing” that homeless people freeze to death where we live because it gets so cold here. She then said it “keeps the streets clear of immigrants” (we are literally right by the Canadian border she just wanted to be racist) mind you this was all within the first conversation I had ever had with her upon just meeting. The amount of stories I have like this are worrying.

So brave. I hope this kind of thing brings real change!

54

u/En_Bullfrog Sep 25 '22

She's doing it in Europe

1

u/Deganov0 Sep 25 '22

This will make it back to the republic, though.

-3

u/Squirrel_Kng Sep 25 '22

Still leading a rally for the Iranian

20

u/Theburninman Sep 25 '22

I mean all the power to her and it's great that she's supporting the cause.... buuuut the only "brave" thing about this is standing on an elevated surface with scissors.

2

u/Ar0war Sep 25 '22

hahaha so true.

18

u/wits_end_77 Sep 25 '22

Where does one obtain a pride flag in Iran?!?!?

20

u/SweetLoLa Sep 25 '22

Someone commented this was in Germany based on the name of a store they noticed.

3

u/wits_end_77 Sep 25 '22

Oh makes sense

6

u/224109a Sep 25 '22

AliExpress?

-1

u/wits_end_77 Sep 25 '22

I mean I guess, I would assume it's illegal in iran

2

u/mynameisalso Sep 25 '22

This is apparently in Germany.

8

u/Yogi10997 Sep 25 '22

Personal agenda

Nothing to do with Iranian women and their movement.

5

u/Monoby Sep 25 '22

Love always wins.

3

u/DarlingOvMars Sep 25 '22

Except it wasn't in iran.. and if she did it in iran she'd probably be killed lmao

0

u/wits_end_77 Sep 25 '22

It's amazing

3

u/TheBlueNinja2006 Sep 25 '22 edited Sep 25 '22

Nothing but respect to these Iranians

Edit: Apparently they're not Iranian lol

Edit 2: Apparently they are Iranian but not in Iran

1

u/Needs_a_compliment Sep 25 '22

They are Iranian. The protest is just being held in Germany.

1

u/TheBlueNinja2006 Sep 25 '22

I fixed it lol

3

u/LividMechanic5167 Sep 25 '22

Why make every protest about sexuality? This is very misleading and can be harmful to their actual cause.

16

u/Winter-Internet-9014 Sep 24 '22

God bless them

11

u/reggiebobby Sep 24 '22

God got them in this mess.

2

u/Ok-Pianist7381 Sep 25 '22

God just testing them to see if they worthy

-5

u/Winter-Internet-9014 Sep 24 '22

-1

u/SaltedSlugxx Sep 25 '22

god isn’t real people are the only thing to blame for the bs in this world. the devil isn’t real either

8

u/Im_Sapphire Sep 24 '22

That’s gonna get real itchy

1

u/Bookssmellneat Sep 25 '22

Why?

2

u/karmakarmacunteleon Sep 25 '22

If you've ever gotten your hair cut without one of those hair capes that wrap around you or perhaps hair got under it, you'd know that getting loose cut hairs on your skin is unsufferable. It's itchy as hell.

2

u/jillijillijilli Sep 25 '22

Shouting beside u all!

2

u/bckayy Sep 25 '22

Go protest in Iran then

2

u/WiZZel1 Sep 25 '22

Pure insanity..🤦‍♂️

2

u/yarzirostu Sep 25 '22

Pretty sure that was not in Iran .

2

u/RA2OR Sep 25 '22

1

u/xSchizogenie Sep 25 '22

10

u/Debleckpenta Sep 24 '22

I wish I had a 10th of her courage.

11

u/your_moms_salty_lips Sep 25 '22

To wave a pride-flag in Germany surrounded by people agreeing with you ?

2

u/Debleckpenta Sep 25 '22

Bruh lmao I thought this was in Iran and was thinking "this lady is a baller"

Still, good on her for supporting the protests.

2

u/your_moms_salty_lips Sep 26 '22 edited Sep 26 '22

All good. Might still be brave, In case there are people back in Iran who can identify her. But I’m sure you have at least a tenth of her courage. Don’t sell yourself short ;)

5

u/dysoncorp Sep 25 '22

A pride flag wouldn’t be so great rn In Iran

6

u/FakkingKunt Sep 25 '22

So many Iranians in Europe, I hope thay can destroy the oppressive government and go back home. It's crazy how they escape sharia law, but when in Europa they suddenly want sharia again.

6

u/dulun18 Sep 25 '22

of course.. also doing in their safe spaces.. go to iran and protest there make a difference over there

this is nothing but for show imo

-2

u/Sir_StudMuffin Sep 25 '22

Isn't the point of a protest to put on a show to invite change? Wtf would she be doing, sitting at home drinking coffee and watching Iran war footage on tv? Better this than nothing. don't be picky.

3

u/red_carpet_hero Sep 24 '22

It seems that women in Iran are reclaiming their freedom, meanwhile in the US it is being taken away..

-4

u/SaltedSlugxx Sep 25 '22

i don’t agree with the abortion ban but other than that how is womens freedom being taken away

3

u/racoongirl0 Sep 25 '22

Bruh…the abortion ban isn’t enough for you 😂

→ More replies

-1

u/red_carpet_hero Sep 25 '22

It starts with banning abortion then taking awayba woman's right to vote.

5

u/SaltedSlugxx Sep 25 '22

2

u/red_carpet_hero Sep 25 '22

Give Republicans an inch and they'll take the entire highway.

It will not happen right away. But if they gain control of both chambers, and maintain that control.

In a few years it will happen.

I hope that I am wrong.

1

u/SaltedSlugxx Sep 25 '22

yea you are wrong bro great job

1

u/red_carpet_hero Sep 25 '22

We will see what direction the Republican Party will put this country in.

Here is a hint. The Handmaid's Tale is their wet dream..

1

u/PleoNasmico Sep 25 '22

2

2

u/neeto_mosqueeto Sep 25 '22

I admire the Iranian ppl’s bravery. I hope they overturn the government.

2

u/Bbygirlbigboot Sep 25 '22

I do enjoy sticking it to "the man"

2

u/darthbane21 Sep 25 '22

2

u/Sir_StudMuffin Sep 25 '22

Lmao, did someone piss in your cereal? Grow up.

2

u/darthbane21 Sep 25 '22

-7

1

u/soraora456 Sep 25 '22

The Kurdish could really use this opportunity to establish their own independent State. They had an extensive region of lands during the Isis suppression.

1

u/Jaturtman Sep 25 '22

I don’t understand why this is on r/publicfreakout

-4

u/GustaveGoodman Sep 25 '22

Good luck finding a man

-39

u/ZakZulu Sep 24 '22

Another Afghanistan, Syria and Libya in the making. guess who's going to take control once they overthrow the government? Al-Qaeda or isis? An excuse for the US and Israel to deploy and take over the oil fields and the nuclear power plant.

17

u/MadRonnie97 Sep 24 '22

If they want to overthrow their government they have that right. This is internal, not external.

-26

u/ZakZulu Sep 24 '22

Sure but guess who's going to take control once they overthrow the government? Al-Qaeda or isis? An excuse for the US and Israel to deploy and take over the oil fields and the nuclear power plant.

14

u/MadRonnie97 Sep 24 '22

You don’t know that for certain. And if that is what happens it will have been up to the people. A frightening power vacuum isn’t a good enough reason to avoid overthrowing a brutal dictatorship.

-17

u/ZakZulu Sep 24 '22

Yes I know that for a certain it's going to happen if they overthrow the government millions will die. Al-Qaeda or isis will definitely try to take over and the internet will just forget about it. The US and Israel will get deployed and they will control the oil fields and the civilians will suffer even more than the sanctions the world has put them under to make their governments look bad.

10

u/MadRonnie97 Sep 24 '22

So keep the oppressive theocratic regime in power? Got it.

-4

u/ZakZulu Sep 24 '22

You don't care that isis or Al-Qaeda has a better opportunity of taking over now if they overthrow the government? Got it.

You don't care that millions of these so-called people you support will probably be dead? Got it

Also the so called theocratic regime in power now come in power when the Western world over through the Democratic elected power.

11

u/PM_Me_Some_Steamcode Sep 24 '22

I think you’re missing the part where all of those are bad?

If people are willing to fight against a sitting opposition I am pretty sure they will try fighting any invading external opposition. What you were doing sounds like fear mongering that we can’t change because it has consequences

You’re saying you might see the us come back but blaming it on the US in the first place and going back to fear mongering that the US would show up

United States has no claim to that land

And I doubt after ending the multi decade war it would be a good idea for them to just start over again for…. Oil

If the people are protesting the US didn’t do that neither did the groups of people using fear

-4

u/ZakZulu Sep 24 '22

I think you’re missing the part where all of those are bad?

I think you're missing the part where I'm sitting back enjoying my popcorn and not cheering for them like i gave a shit to begin with. I never once emailed my Representatives to vote against the sanctions on the civilians of Iran or organized a protest against the sanctions.

If people are willing to fight against a sitting opposition I am pretty sure they will try fighting any invading external opposition.

Yeah and millions will be killed and the internet well I forget about it.

What you were doing sounds like fear mongering that we can’t change because it has consequences

Is it fear mongering or just pointing out the facts?! I'm sorry the truth scares you.

United States has no claim to that land

😂 The US had no claim to the US and but guess what it's called America now. America has no claim to Syria/Iraq but guess what it controls all the oil fields there now.

Oh and Israel is probably going to take some land by their borders.

5

u/PM_Me_Some_Steamcode Sep 24 '22 edited Sep 25 '22

I think that just means your arguments are in bad faith how are you any better than the people you’re criticizing for not doing anything if you’re not doing anything

2

u/Bandit112138 Sep 24 '22

America does not control the oil fields in Iraq or Syria you absolute buffoon, the governments of Iraq and Syria do lmao. Israel has not grabbed any land by their border to Iran, because they do not have a common border LMAO

There is nothing but hostility between the Iranian people and those groups.

Thanks for making my point!

9

u/Bandit112138 Sep 24 '22

He's not at all making your point. He's pointing out that Shias represent 90% of Iran's population. The 10% are in no place of power to randomly start running things, nor are Iranians gonna let ISIS, Al Qaeda or the Taliban just roll on in. It's also pretty damn patronizing that you're just here pretending like Iranians wouldn't be able to take care of themselves lol. Let's pretend you're genuinely interested and not just arguing in bad faith, you could read this for more info: https://manaramagazine.org/2022/03/the-challenges-and-advances-of-iranian-sunnis/

2

u/ZakZulu Sep 24 '22

The 10% do not represent ISIS! These are external forces. They have been fighting Iran for decades. I wonder why. I'm sure it's not to shake hands and have tea parties but to take over. Lol so yes he's making my point and it's going over your head.

Thank you.

4

u/Bandit112138 Sep 24 '22

Man what are you talking about? External or internal forces, that's completely irrelevant, those groups are nowhere near strong enough to take on Iran, who a) is a geographic natural defense wonder b) has consistently fucked those groups up c) why the hell would a country of 80 million give itself up to small terrorist cells lmao

Your understanding of any of this is so poor it's not even funny.

1

u/ZakZulu Sep 24 '22

External or internal forces, that's completely irrelevant, those groups are nowhere near strong enough to take on Iran,

Lol, dude you can't be serious. Duh! They're not strong enough to take on the GOVERNMENT of Iran but it would be a cakewalk to take over a government overthrown by its civilians. Your whole foundation is flawed for your ABC argument. 🤡

3

u/Bandit112138 Sep 24 '22 edited Sep 24 '22

And why are you of the impression that 'a government overthrown by its civilians' will instantly crumble? In a total takeover like what you're implying, it sounds like the civilians make a new government... which would most likely keep its army... which it already has lmao. It's almost as if Iran already had a revolution that was successful at some point.

5

u/Onwisconsin42 Sep 24 '22

You understand about nothing about the complex sociopolitical aspects of this issue. Why are you insistent in talking out your ass.

3

u/ZakZulu Sep 24 '22 edited Sep 24 '22

Ok. Guess you have nothing to add but to attack my character.

5

u/Bandit112138 Sep 24 '22

He's telling you the truth lmao. You're compairing apples to watermelons here, and you can't even come up with anything other than "it'll happen bro im telling u"

6

u/Fallenmorningstarig Sep 24 '22 edited Sep 25 '22

That is a real possibility and a real fear.

The Islamic "Republic" if you may, has to go. No doubt about it. But a lot of Iranians, I would say majority that are educated on this topic, don't want Israel, U.K or America back in the seat. Nor the prince of Pahlavi for that matter. So when push comes to shove, we'll fight those bastards too. Al-Qaede and ISIS threat is not as real as the other ones you mentioned so there is no point in entertaining that thought.

1

u/ZakZulu Sep 24 '22

Oh my God thank you so much for this everybody's been talking out of their ass and I appreciate this comment so much.

The sad part is I understand that Al Qaeda and isis are not going to be a bigger threat but that's the thing Israel and the US are going to use.

4

u/Bandit112138 Sep 25 '22

Yeah man US and Israel are just dead set to invade a country 3x the size of Afghanistan, 2x more populated, way more mountainous, with poor infrastructure. Makes total sense. They'll also use Sunni terrorist groups as a casus belli for the world's largest Shia country, makes total sense too.

10

u/Kashik Sep 24 '22

How often do you want to post this comment? Fuck off with that bullshit already

3

u/ZakZulu Sep 24 '22

Careful, lol they don't like hearing the truth. Plus they benefit from it. hence the popcorn. They want to sit here and act like they actually care.

-5

u/ehreundwurde Sep 24 '22

woahh a lot of down vote eh, why they so mad haha, truth is not easy to accept haha

3

u/ZakZulu Sep 24 '22

Yeah, they just wanna act like they ever gave a shit about the civilians of Iran. They're enjoying the show with their popcorn

0

u/ehreundwurde Sep 24 '22

it doesn't matter, as long as its not themselves haha, like you say they're enjoying the show, down vote me baby

3

u/ZakZulu Sep 24 '22

46

u/pinkocommiegunnut Sep 24 '22

There is a protest going on in opposition to a fundamentalist religious government. Homosexuality is punishable (at a minimum) by public lashings, and up to death.

It has everything to do with LGBT.

3

u/Yogi10997 Sep 25 '22

Nope your are misleaded.

The OG protest is about mandate of hijab in public and that woman should have choice whether to wear it or not. The west and these activists pushing their own agenda when in fact it was West who were responsible for Islamic revolution in Iran in late 80's.

Under the monarchy of shah in Iran, women had more liberty and freedom of choice and the state was not run under the Islamic laws until he was overthrown by khomenini with American support. When it comes to "Western friendly governance", we all know who funded mujahedeen in battlefield until they bite the hands who feed them with weapons and resources 🐦

Anti-Alphabet? Why? I'm genuinely asking.

Is your problem with homosexuality? The vocal minority of the LGBT community that is particularly whiny? What?

1

u/Entebe Sep 25 '22

Your comment doesn't make sense. Did you reply to the correct comment?

1

u/stanknotes Sep 25 '22

Look at who I responded.

1

u/Entebe Sep 25 '22 edited Sep 25 '22

He is saying it's kind of dangerous to post this since now the girl in the video could be tracked down and be punished. At least that is how I understand it.

He didn't say anything pro or contra LGBTQ+

You ask him if he is against homosexuality.

Therefore I am wondering.

1

u/stanknotes Sep 25 '22

No he edited the comment. Ah ok. Now I see. Yea. It makes sense you are confused.

The original comment said "They find their way into everything. Glad the Iranians will have all this footage when they need to track people down." Something to that effect. I might have the phrasing wrong. It was obvious what he meant by "they." That paired with the username... Yea. Make sense now?

1

u/Entebe Sep 26 '22

Ahhh ok. Now I get it. Also now that I think about it I could interpret his post in a way you did. Thanks for clarification.
