Whatever you think of Elton, he never quit. Respect to him. My moms favorite.

37

u/Wuhblam Sep 24 '22

Same. I bought my mom tickets months ago for his farewell tour. We get to see him perform in 8 days.

14

u/bgj55 Sep 24 '22

You’re gonna love it! I bought my mom tickets for the show at Gillette a couple months ago. Our only time getting to see this legend. All the best to you and your mom!

5

u/DJ_Molten_Lava Sep 25 '22

I took my mom in 2017 to see him and even from the "cheap seats" he was incredible. We both sang along and laughed and cheered.

1

u/ijbh2o Sep 25 '22

I can confirm you will have a great time!!!

70

u/Gorlonsins Sep 24 '22

I've had major respect for him ever since the Eminem thing. It showed that his love for people knows no boundaries or stigmas.
Our world is better because of Elton John.

7

u/Br0paganda Sep 25 '22

Didn't Eminem send him a birthday gift of two fancy pp rings?

Aight the fact that article doesn’t have a picture of said jewelry is a travesty

7

u/BuilderCarl Sep 25 '22

He's still standing, yo.

14

u/Desert_Rat_Dude Sep 24 '22

Just never give up. No matter what.

3

u/Literally_-_Hitler Sep 25 '22

he is still standing

Cliff Richard is left out in the cold

u/Tegridy2020 Sep 24 '22

"it's all his fault we're spending 6 billion to fight aids" maybe not the best choice of words to say to a gay man.

47

u/tinacat933 Sep 24 '22

I like Joe but he really need to learn when to keep his trap shut , like just stop 😂

49

u/1gardenerd Sep 24 '22

Joe Biden is growing on me haha. I'm starting to learn he is a kind, genuine person and not a perfect person.

29

u/ChefPlowa Sep 24 '22

Like a slightly shittier Obama. I'll take what I can get given the circumstances. 🤷‍♂️

12

u/Thanos_Stomps Sep 25 '22

Idk about shittier… I mean I love Obama but Biden has been far more progressive of a president than Obama, which is ironic considering Obama ran in change and Biden ran on nothing fundamentally changing.

-19

u/Razmataz76 Sep 25 '22

Yep, Like Obama said, never underestimate Joe's ability to fuck things up! I like my new American life under the Biden Administration. I am a sadist now. I am into the pain and suffering. that is what we want right?

9

u/confuciusly Sep 25 '22

A sadist would be a Trumper. I can give you a list of things I don't like about President Biden's policies, but at least he has the ability to be compassionate.

9

u/baserock_love Sep 25 '22

Same, he's really been earning my respect. Not only due to some pretty good legislative victories but he's just a decent man.

He just awarded a humanitarian activist who spent his life fighting and raising awareness of aids.

The previous awarded a medal to a right wing propagandist who ran a weekly segment where he would read off the names of men who died of aids to mock and celebrate their deaths.

The contrast between the two could not be more stark and I'm just glad to have a decent person as the figurehead of the country again.

0

u/Howiebledsoe Sep 25 '22

Right? I mean could you imagine Trump in this scenario? He’d probably say something awful about gay people, mock those who died during the HIV pandemic and then make a point of not touching him.

5

What the fuck. I read this so many times trying to figure it out and still have made no progress.

It reads like a conversation between Hunter S Thompson and Yoda after a 6 day meth binge.

Edit: Wow what a bitch move…. Editing your nonsensical rantings instead of explaining their meaning.

1

u/Dilligafay Sep 25 '22

The reason you have trouble understanding it is that it’s always comments in broken English with little to no substance. They think they’re being smart… it’s really sad.

0

u/speakhyroglyphically Sep 25 '22

[END QUOTE] agreed, lol

5

u/owa00 Sep 25 '22

Oh god I hope not! You do realize that Biden is the reason that Obama was forced to come out in support of gay marriage right? Biden had a "gaffe" moment that honestly was more courage than gaffe, and created a political firestorm over gay marriage. He forced Obama's hand to come out in support of gay marriage before he was politically ready to do it, despite being in support of it behind closed doors. I honestly think that it was a big deal in garnering support for gay rights across the nation, back when a president's words meant something.

Criticize Biden all you want, but Biden has always said stuff that he cares about from the heart. It was probably his biggest and most important "gaffe".

0

u/Strujiksleftboot Sep 24 '22

It's simply age unfortunately

10

u/[deleted] Sep 24 '22

[deleted]

4

u/owa00 Sep 25 '22

His gaffe as Obama's VP helped push gay marriage more than Obama was willing to commit. It really wasn't a gaffe, but he got caught speaking from the heart instead as a politician. People don't give Biden enough credit.

-10

u/Razmataz76 Sep 25 '22

No one deeply inhales little girls like Biden. Gold Medal winner for it,

6

u/DrZoidberg- Sep 25 '22

Right, no one grabs em by the pussy like Biden does.

Oh wait.

4

u/baserock_love Sep 25 '22

The most creepy thing is how biden was infamous for peeping on little girls while they were changing by routinely barging into the dressing room without knocking of the child beauty pageant he used to own.

Oh wait...Biden didn't own a child beauty pageant.

-4

u/Razmataz76 Sep 25 '22

Good point, one previous president is not into underage girls and the current creepy one is, smelling them, nuzzling them and groping them. Oh wait, Biden is an equal opportunity pervert.....any child at the local swimming pool can play with Biden's blonde leg hairs while he is hunting down Corn Pop with a chain!

When Joey is done at the pool, he can shower with his daughter Ashley Biden to complete his day and she can write about it in her diary. Keep digging that hole deeper on this argument

1

u/alt0206 Sep 25 '22

Katie Johnson was 13.

1

u/baserock_love Sep 26 '22

I literally can't even imagine what it's like to be so gullible that you uncritically believe something about a biden female family member diary that even Project Veritas thought was too un-credible to run with.

Also if you want the number of a good cult deprogrammer I know a guy.

0

u/Razmataz76 Sep 26 '22 edited Sep 26 '22

She has a name! Her name is Ashley Biden. Project Veritas had purchased and obtained the Ashely Biden Diary legally, and a Project Veritas employee leaked some of the diary info. I guess it was good enough to get the attention of the FBI, kicking in the Project Veritas founders door at his home.

https://theintercept.com/2022/09/07/project-veritas-ashley-biden-diary-leak/

Quotes from the Ashley Biden Diary:

she writes, “Hyper-sexualized @ a young age. What is this due to? Was I molested. I think so – I can’t remember specifics but I do remember trauma – I remember not liking the woolzacks house; I remember somewhat being sexualized with [a cousin]; I remember having sex with Friends @ a young age; showers w/my dad (probably not appropriate). Being turned on when I wasn’t supposed to be.”

1

u/baserock_love Sep 27 '22

You're really the poster child of why we need to teach critical thinking skills to children.

Project veritas owner O'keefe personally said he chose not to publish it because they couldn't verify it was real. The FBI could not verify it was real either lol. Just because an item is real that does not mean things written in it are real.

Even if it IS real you could simply look up when it's considered not appropriate to bathe with your child. Most parents do and the answer to that is 5 to 8 years old depending on the child psychologist.

Like are you really unaware that parents bathe with their extremely young children? 5 year olds do not take showers alone haha

14

u/Zakkimatsu Sep 24 '22

poor choice of words, but i think everyone understood what he meant

6

u/circa_1 Sep 25 '22

it will never cease to amaze me how fickle benefit of the doubt can be. If you agree politically, its fine, we knew what he meant. If you dont politically agree, its on the news and social media for days/ weeks. Goes both ways, and for the record, i dont think Biden meant it in a mean way, just a poor choice of words.

1

u/diet_shasta_orange Sep 25 '22

I don't think its that fickle, I think most people get the benefit of the doubt when it it is obvious what they are saying.

6

u/KitsapEric Sep 25 '22

He’s like 103 years old. He chose the first ever openly gay man to be in his cabinet and openly gay woman to be his climate czar. The fact is he gave an award to an openly gay man hugged him, and made a fuss about the gov spending money on HIV research and outreach is a good thing. Unthinkable to a 16 year old me coming out at school in 2006

6

u/TigerWellington Sep 24 '22

It was relevant because he got the medal for his humanitarian AIDS work and he runs the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

0

u/Strujiksleftboot Sep 24 '22

Right person 20 years too late. So frustrating that the Dems can't get something better together.

10

u/Whatsup129389 Sep 25 '22

Tell that to the tons of diabetic Americans who’ll now get $35 insulin. He wanted everyone else to get covered but Republicans in Congress said no.

He’s an experienced politician and he’s doing a good job.

5

u/owa00 Sep 25 '22

Biden's accomplished the same or more than Obama's accomplished in his first term. People are never going to give Biden enough credit for the legislation that he's helped passed, despite that cuck Manchin sucking the Republicans' dick.

0

u/Strujiksleftboot Sep 25 '22

Yeah as the Dems have a majority. Someone more charismatic could do more.

You don't have CEO's of major multinational businesses at that age.

2

u/This_is_User Sep 25 '22

Someone more charismatic could do more

Who is this person you are talking about? It's easy to say "someone should do X", but who is this someone that would have been the better choice?

The only ones I can think of are a few politicians still too young to be presidents and the only other one of mature enough is about the same age as Biden and wears fluffy mittens. I love that guy, but he would probably be no less elegant in these kinds of situations.

1

u/Whatsup129389 Sep 25 '22

Also, I don’t think charisma gets a bill passed haha

1

u/Turdferguson586 Sep 25 '22

That’s pretty nitpicky. He didn’t say anything wrong.

1

u/Friendly_Job1890 Sep 25 '22

really this is the take away you make from here? smh. pretty sure Elton didn't care and knew it was a joke. I swear people are getting dumber.

33

u/P3nguLGOG Sep 24 '22

I mean, William Shatner AND Stewie Griffen both covered one of his songs, I’m kinda surprised he didn’t already get a medal.

12

u/mattiedog27 Sep 24 '22

8

u/P3nguLGOG Sep 24 '22

Fox news: Biden uses his satanic powers to make Elton John cry to sway the future election.

30

u/Reddit-username_here Sep 24 '22

Fox News: Biden blames Elton John for adding $6 Billion to the deficit and for AIDS not being eradicated yet.

12

u/Ace_OfSpadez11 Sep 24 '22

Fox News: Biden is distracting us with covid and the little mermaid so aids patients keep dying, vote for trump and he will cure everyone with the power of Buddha, Jesus, Allah, Thor, and canola oil

0

u/Trent1373 Sep 24 '22

Vote for Trump if you’re looking forward to being thrown under the bus just to fuel his narcissism, greed, and criminal empire. It’s like someone took a spoiled toddler and shoved into an old man’s body.

6

u/Vegetable-Box3050 Sep 24 '22

I think above comment was making fun of how Fox news will spin anything into bad press for dems. Not being serious.

5

u/Ace_OfSpadez11 Sep 24 '22

This is exactly what i was doing

0

u/BuilderCarl Sep 25 '22

OAN: Sleepy Joe Blames Elton John For AIDS. . .

(title continues after several ads)

. . .Related Tax Spending At White House Concert

1

u/baserock_love Sep 25 '22

Fox News: Biden attends lavish white house concert while border still unsecure and inflation above 8%.

I'm assuming fox news has to have said this the other day because i've encountered literally a dozen trump cultists that are SO MAD that biden went to an elton john concert instead of being the first president in american history to secure the border and solving a global inflation crisis on a friday.

-25

u/Menudosushi Sep 24 '22

Elton too old for Biden. Homie likes em 12 and under

-10

u/youngestOG Sep 24 '22

38

u/verucka-salt Sep 24 '22

Beautiful. And Jill is so classy & real.

16

u/Stop-Staring-Stupid Sep 24 '22

Yes she is. She seems like a truly genuine first lady.

-36

u/qatarsucks Sep 24 '22

Yea she’s so genuine. Truly a heroic woman. She even puts up with her Husband touching people inappropriately. She really is a true piece of classy generous person people blah blah blah

10

u/Stop-Staring-Stupid Sep 25 '22

What does her husband touching people "inappropriately" have to do with her? Also, why so mad?

10

u/Throneawaystone Sep 25 '22

Idk but I remember that Trump said he'd bang Ivanka if she wasn't his daughter

1

u/Stop-Staring-Stupid Sep 25 '22

That doesn't surprise me lol

1

u/Sugmabawsack Sep 25 '22

On live television he said that the thing he and his daughter had in common was “Sex.”

It was on some morning talk show, just blurted it right out.

3

u/This_is_User Sep 25 '22

You keep bringing up Trump. Why is that?

2

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

how hurt is your butt right now?

0

u/downonthesecond Sep 25 '22

She's a doctor, what else do you expect?

1

u/AFineDayForScience Sep 25 '22

She looks like she could outlive Joe by 25 years

3

u/CALCIUM_CANNONS Sep 25 '22

Mrs Biden holding his hand 😭😍

43

u/Writing-Fit Sep 24 '22

Wow giving an award for helping humanity. What did Rush L do for his medal of freedom again?

30

u/Skelter89 Sep 24 '22

A cancer gave out a medal to cancer dying of cancer

2

u/CALCIUM_CANNONS Sep 25 '22

One of those times when I was a big fan of cancer

13

u/KittensAndGravy Sep 24 '22

I heard Rush was awarded for taking the most oxy’s in one sitting … while calling everyone else taking them huge pieces of shit.

1

u/baserock_love Sep 25 '22

I was gonna say he single handed propped up the synthetic opiate and erectile dysfunction pharmaceutical industries. that's not worth nothing.

Oh and he ran a weekly segment where he would read off the names of aids victims to mock and celebrate their deaths. This alone was probably 90% of it.

2

u/KittensAndGravy Sep 25 '22

Someone downvoted you!!! Satan must not like the bad press his angel of hypocrisy is receiving here!

0

u/downonthesecond Sep 25 '22

You're thinking of a different award.

Either way, the same could be said of Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep, Steven Spielberg, Denzel Washington, Simone Biles, Michael Jordan, Ellen DeGeneres, Barbra Streisand, and countless others.

2

u/Writing-Fit Sep 25 '22

Metal of honor. Even worse....

2

u/ScarsTheVampire Sep 25 '22

Crazy how those people aren’t blatant and outspoken racist fuckweasles like Rush huh?

0

u/icrossedtheroad Sep 24 '22

He miraculously rolled over in his grave.

29

u/Desert_Rat_Dude Sep 24 '22

This is beautiful.

Not a huge fan but anything to speak up and bring up awareness to AIDS/HIV and stopping the stigma of the disease is awesome for me. Using your voice as a celebrity for something good and to help others is something I am all for.

Thank you, Elton and President Biden.

2

u/Stop-Staring-Stupid Sep 24 '22

Yes! You said exactly what I was thinking! This is really beautiful and you can tell he really appreciates it!

7

u/papagarry Sep 24 '22

Fucking love Elton John. Well deserved.

8

u/TOMapleLaughs Sep 24 '22

That's Sir Elton John, fyi.

6

u/unodakine808 Sep 25 '22

Yes. They said sir many a time in the video.

7

u/dudeitscoke Sep 24 '22

Man he really freaked out in public

6

u/thesweetestchef Sep 25 '22

First I loved how Sir Elton John grabbed First Lady Dr. Biden’s hand but mostly how Dr. Biden looks at him proud like he’s her son. That’s sweet.

2

u/No-Consideration6589 Sep 25 '22

EJ has done a lot for AIDS. Congratulations Elton.

2

u/dankdaimyo Sep 25 '22

The end cracked me up. "By the way, it's all his fault we are spending 6 billion dollars in tax payer money to help aids"

3

u/lesrolo51 Sep 24 '22

Well deserved

2

u/Even-Lengthiness-312 Sep 24 '22

Elton is one of my favorites of all time. Saw him right before the pandemic and it was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

2

u/Hot_Obligation_6170 Sep 24 '22

my buddy john was there

2

u/jgphotography19 Sep 25 '22

Elton John has always been a class act.

2

u/CrazeeEyezKILLER Sep 25 '22

He’s wonderful and a class act. This is how you accept a well-deserved honor.

3

u/123Fake_St Sep 24 '22

“No way….that’s great…..WE’VED CURED AIDS!!!” - Lobby bar, right in the lobby

1

u/Menudosushi Sep 25 '22

Man Joe Biden is fucking whack.

3

u/Maykko_ Sep 25 '22

Giving an award to someone who's genuinely trying to better the world seems like the least "whack" thing.

But then again, he doesn't run my country.

-2

u/darthbane21 Sep 25 '22

We’re just ignore the fact that he blamed Elton John for being a super spreader of AIDS so much so that we’ve had to spend an exorbitant amount of money on it?! Or is everyone in this sub completely brainwashed and physically can’t see it?

2

u/_Profitable_Prophet_ Sep 25 '22

That was a joke about funding you poor dear

-1

u/darthbane21 Sep 25 '22

Suuuure! If that’s how you wanna portray it.

So we have Biden admitting to a relationship with a 12 year old while he was 30. And now he’s letting out his homophobia.

3

u/_Profitable_Prophet_ Sep 25 '22

Holy shit your comment history is comedy gold 😆 pure trumpie delusion

2

u/_Profitable_Prophet_ Sep 25 '22

Lol having a relationship? Is that the latest trumpie mythology to get stupid people to vote Republican?

-14

u/stiffpaint Sep 24 '22

Why on earth is this on this sub

2

u/BuilderCarl Sep 25 '22

It's public, and people are freaking out. Not every freakout involves punching or racism.

-1

u/stiffpaint Sep 25 '22

But like it's people politely clapping at a big event, how is that freaking out

3

u/MC_Etchasketch Sep 25 '22

Because sometimes freak outs are happy. And cheering and clapping constitute "freaking out". Have a lovely day.

1

u/BBQsauce18 Sep 24 '22

He was NOT expecting that!

1

u/fokaiHI Sep 25 '22

That was cool.

1

u/Danielle082 Sep 25 '22

I do commend Elton for his hard work w AIDS. This is a topic very close to my heart. But his work w Brittany has become an embarrassment.

0

u/mynameisalso Sep 25 '22

Did they do a song together?

1

u/Pissedmushrooms Sep 25 '22

There's a lump in my throat

1

u/VoidScreaming101 Sep 25 '22

This is the second time Elton John has made me cry.

1

u/Thebisexual_Raccoon Sep 25 '22

When the time comes and Sir Elton John passes away it’s gonna be one of great sorrow.

1

u/bgalvan02 Sep 25 '22

It’s Sir Elton John , he was knighted by the Queen!

1

u/djpromo_vqs Sep 25 '22

Maniacs at FoxNews working very hard to come up with something bad to say about this.

0

u/musteatbrainz Sep 25 '22

What a phony

1

u/ruler_gurl Sep 25 '22

Nono that's definitely Sir Elton

-71

u/Money_Distribution18 Sep 24 '22

As soon as he sung Dont let your son go down on me Hunter left the building with his laptop

-27

u/assword_69420420 Sep 24 '22 edited Sep 25 '22

Nobody gonna talk about "its his fault we're spending 6 million to fight AIDS"?

Edit: How is this not offensive for him to say? That is so blatantly homophobic.

4

u/kingfisher773 Sep 25 '22

pretty sure that was a joke

-4

u/assword_69420420 Sep 25 '22

I believe it was, but isn't that extremely homophobic?

4

u/HailTheJe Sep 25 '22

Depends who says it. Biden? No. A republican? Yes.

Why? Hypocrisy. Republican bad, democrat good.

3

u/assword_69420420 Sep 25 '22

Exactly. I'm not a republican but god damn dude the president joking about the old stereotype of gay people having/spreading AIDS is so inappropriate. I hate to use Trump as a comparison but I feel like had trump said the same thing, people would (rightfully) be super pissed about that.

4

u/HailTheJe Sep 25 '22

I love jokes, I thought it was funny af but the delivery made it seem like Biden was rambling lol

What gets me is the hypocrisy. If a Republican made this same joke, the clip would be posted here but for different reasons and whoever said it would be the most homophobic POS to ever walk this earth. And anyone that supports them hates gays.

0

u/lazergoblin Sep 26 '22

Not every republican is a homophobe but you can bet your ass every homophobe is a republican. That's the reason there is a double standard.

0

u/HailTheJe Sep 26 '22

Not even close lol I only know two people that I’d consider full on homophobes and they both voted for Biden and Hillary

1

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

this is the opposite of a freakout but wholesome nonetheless

1

u/MurkyFogsFutureLogs Sep 25 '22

Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect... Like the woman who accused Biden of raping her? Hey, Elton great company you keep there, I hope you treasure that medal for the rest of your life.

1

u/Synix7777 Sep 25 '22

He's still standing to fight Aids.

-42

u/sprusk Sep 24 '22

Did Joe just sniff his hair?

-23

u/VOODOOPLAY Sep 24 '22

did he sing Candle in the wind for joe?

-28

u/laxmolnar Sep 24 '22

The fuck? We have so many nations on the brink of war…… revolutions and such such

I don’t want my leader going to celebrity dinners, I want him working 90 hours a week to make sure the world is ok.

Fuck this gerontocracy, both sides. They take the title of president, not out of the pursuit of passion, but rather cause it seems cool. Fuck

3

u/baserock_love Sep 25 '22

Man complaining about about the last guy golfing must have literally been your 90 hour a week job if you're whingeing this hard about a president going to a concert on a friday night and presenting a humanitarian award which is one of the things every president is supposed to do.

-22

u/davidlewisgedge Sep 24 '22

Did Major Yang ever imagine he would end up doing this when he enlisted?

10

u/NULLizm Sep 24 '22

probably glad he doesn't have to fetch hamberders or guard the diet coke button

2

u/baeb66 Sep 25 '22

Major Yang crushed that speech. Keep his name out of your mouth.

-1

u/andepoul Sep 25 '22

Love Elton John, but I'll never forgive him for cancelling a show in my hometown (saying that he was sick) and then showing up at TIFF the same night. Real shitty move.

-1

u/yowowthisgreat Sep 25 '22

There was 1 really easy way to end AIDS.

0

u/mynameisalso Sep 25 '22

I loved how the speaker affirmed Bidens order to read the speach. "on it sir".

But also who was it? Because it was not director Yang.

0

u/Ok_Most6280 Sep 25 '22

What is there to freak out about?

0

u/Classic-Abalone5529 Sep 25 '22

crocodile tears
