Bro, I’m not even trying to shame, but I dropped out of highschool and followed a band around.

Got top 99th percentile on the 5? Subject things.

It’s exceedingly easy.

“What shape is the moon? A.triangle B. Square C. Isosceles D. Sphere.

Actual question I remember

30

u/awwrats Aug 13 '22

I dropped out too. Several years later, my GFs mom made me promise to get my GED so I did. I remember thinking "holy shit, is this all we're supposed to know after 12 years of school?" It's disappointing, really.

12

u/darcmosch Aug 13 '22

And yet it still took her 4 times to pass, which goes to show that the GED is a good barometer for telling us if your brain actually absorbs knowledge or makes it up

34

u/ringwraith6 Aug 13 '22

The only question I actually remember was calculating the hypotenuse of a triangle. Besides typing (which is more of a skill than knowledge) the Pythagorean theorem is the only thing I remember from high school that was actually useful....

73

u/Nandabun Aug 13 '22

My mom died when I was 12, I kind of gave up on things. By time I had high school, I just didn't care about much anymore. Still passed my GED without studying.

Who is this lady, and why did it take her four tries?

9

u/ringwraith6 Aug 13 '22

Mine died when I was 15. I had the same reaction. I'm not sure that anybody ever really recovers from that. But I think that emotional numbness makes it easier to pass the GED. It makes it easier to not get overly stressed...and helps whatever knowledge you have flow to the surface without having to contend with the clenching anxiety that most folks have when taking such an important test.

Or not. That's just my take.

Yo!! I was drinking until 2 hours before my test on day 1. Was falling asleep during and still managed to pass lol

43

u/Apostastrophe Aug 13 '22

Here in Scotland there’s a tradition that on the last day of high school, you all meet at the local park at like 7am (an hour before school) and get really drunk before you go. Personally, I had an “Advanced Higher” physics pre-exam (AH is the equivalent difficulty of first year of university and you do 3 pre exams throughout the year to make sure you actually have a chance of passing the main exam) and I went in so drunk I could barely walk straight. I briefly fell asleep on my paper and drooled on one of the answers. Still managed to get an A.

For our version of GED difficulty (2 years before that) there was literally a girl who went in to the exams on heroin and still passed.

I’m amazed that someone of such low intellect is an elected representative.

12

u/Nokrai Aug 13 '22

When you take the GED in the state I grew up in it tells you how you scored and how you did compared to your peers, as well as how many high school graduates can pass the exam….

Less than half of high school graduates in my state could pass the GED test.

I got my G.E.D (aka good enough degree) like a month after I should've graduated. I didn't have the best home life, moved from family member to family members homes. my last year in school I lived at a friend's house.

I got basically straight Es my last two years of high school. (English, art and gym are kinda hard to fail)

I fucking aced that shit, almost a perfect score on everything.

Edit:

I just wanted to clarify, the tests to get your g.e.d are super easy, basic, middle school level stuff.

Western CO and Eastern CO are very red (mostly farming and ranching areas) but way less populated. With the exception of CO Springs, the entire Front Range is solidly blue. And a lot of the mountain areas like Breckenridge and Vail are also solidly blue. Thank god that makes the state in general blue but goddamn it’s embarrassing to have Colorado next to this idiot’s name!

But, my feelings have changed. I am working my way through my 5th decade on this planet and I find myself seriously doubting whether humans will ever get their shit together or we will continue finding reasons to harm each other forever—whether intentionally or out of ignorance.

11

u/Glitch3dNPC Aug 13 '22

One side tries to harm the other.

While innocent people are forced to defend themselves.

-Just like what happened in Bosnia: Humans have to understand what it takes to achieve peace.

If not, the bad guy will just keep taking jabs at anyone they want.

28

If there were 10,000 hours in a day I would still not have time for a second of this moron’s bullshit. What an embarrassment.

The fact that both her neurons have a platform despite having never met is beyond me

u/remmij Aug 12 '22

The woman who has endlessly squawked for years about gun rights and "Back the Blue", is suddenly very upset that law enforcement officers have guns.

u/bobinboulder Aug 13 '22

I’m From Colorado and she is such a fucking embarrassment. I apologize to everyone from every other of the 49 states for her ignorant fuckery. Now I know how mothers feels when they go in public with a misbehaving child.

7

u/PizzaNuggies Aug 12 '22

How can someone this dumb be in Congress?

7

u/DanguhLange Aug 12 '22

It’s like watching a high schooler go up and give a speech they didn’t even slightly prepare for. It is truly astonishing Boebert and MTG have a platform especially after the despicable things both have said and done.

STOP GIVING HER ATTENTION

Stop posting videos of her (even if you think she’s behaving ridiculously). Stop pointing the camera at her. She behaves badly on purpose. She’s trolling and when you post videos of her she wins.

Just like all trolls the thing they actually hate is just to be ignored. So do that.

13

u/oldbastardbob Aug 12 '22

She has absolutely no idea what any of what she is reading out loud with gusto really means.

13

u/fermental Aug 12 '22

Also, I bet she uses teeth.

People talk loud when they want to act smart, right?

4

u/Muted-Bee Aug 12 '22

What’s with the voters in Colorado who vote for this stupid bitch? She’s beyond any hope of redemption or recovery. Her idiocy is beyond all comprehension. Heck, tRump could take a shit in her pants and she wouldn’t miss a beat.
