u/nugulon Jul 01 '22
Wouldâve likely gotten a taser in the US but I believe if the cop was alone they are supposed to pull their firearm until backup arrives. Another officer needs keep lethal on the suspect while they deploy a taser.
Shits fucked in the US, training is scary lacking on the de-escalation side. They will kill you super quick for less and usually donât face any consequences. Best to avoid cops on duty at all costs in the US regardless of race.→ More replies3
u/OmegaHead86 Jul 01 '22
Thank fuck I live in Straya. The cops here are still shit cunts but they donât seem to be even half as bad as your cops.
4
u/That0n36uy Jul 01 '22
What else do you expect? Yeah we have a few shit cops here in the states, that get the negative attention on the internet. But girl #2 started chest bumping the arresting officer while he was trying to subdue girl #1 at the beginning of the video. She was interfering with an arrest. At the 2:07 minute mark, you see her touching the copâs belt. I know UK police donât carry the same arms American police do, but her reaching for his belt is a sure fire way to get herself into some trouble. Who knows what she could have done if she got ahold of any of the officerâs weapons on his belt. Girl got off easy. She is lucky she wasnât tased and put on the ground the second she threw her chest at the officer the first time. She was completely out of line.

He's more dangerous than the cop that kicked her.
He should have taken control of thee situation and place both women in cuffs. He was too soft handed and allowed the situation to escalate to the point that he couldn't maintain situational awareness. He created risk for himself, other cops, and the citizens he should have quickly detained.

That cops inability to control the situation resulted in the escalation of violence. He should have been able to quickly and safely detain both women. Instead he allowed the situation to escalate and lost situational awareness. He's more of a menace than the cop that pulled his dumb ass out of the situation.

Americans: damn these are the nicest cops ever
135
u/Bodyfluids_dealer Jul 01 '22
She was even touching his doohickies and shit on his belt and he wouldnât even turn around. In America thatâd been a bullet to the face because âshe was going for my gunâ
27
u/Ladonnacinica Jul 01 '22
Most UK cops donât even carry guns. Itâs a special trained type of police officers that are allowed to carry guns.
Very crazy to think about how different things are in some places.
2
u/sizzlinpapaya Jul 01 '22
If youâre carrying a gun and an idiot like this attempts to grab it do you expect them to not defend themselves?

6
u/Orthodox-Waffle Jul 01 '22
Honestly yeah, my personal experiences with American cops have always been awful so I was surprised at how "tame" the fly kick was. It's real warped out here so our perception of officer/civilian interactions are equally warped.
→ More replies36
u/Sewayaki-Kitsune Jun 30 '22
People here think all cops are terrible because they've never seen cops from other countries that are trained properly, held accountable for their actions and don't immediately resort to violence
→ More replies-15
u/YarisAutonomics9 Jul 01 '22
The only cop that was properly trained is the cop that shut down the bullshit at the end. The other two let the situation escalate to the point that violence was inevitable.
17
u/Sewayaki-Kitsune Jul 01 '22
The female who immediately jumped in and helped handcuff the one on the ground is somehow letting it escalate. Sure pal. Violence wasn't necessary here at all, which is why the one you're praising is getting reprimanded for kicking someone unnecessarily
→ More replies1
u/WockItOut Jul 01 '22
Yea god damn. The sheer amount of bullshit that first cop had to endure. Then the girl trying to pry those officers off her friend. The kick was minimal too, definitely deserved more imo.

u/Valar247 Jun 30 '22
What do you mean? Her shoes came off, she probably died there right on the spot
39
51
u/Mr-Klaus Jun 30 '22
It's a little different in the UK than in the US - just because someone is doing something that warrants force it doesn't mean that police have free reign to do whatever they want to them.
The way it works is that police have to use the minimal amount of force needed to diffuse a situation. The cop could have easily just grabbed her arm and pulled her away but he chose to kick instead - in the eyes of the law, that fly kick was excessive force.
That said, she 100% deserved it lol.
35
u/nope_nic_tesla Jul 01 '22
That sounds like a totally reasonable policy to prevent police brutality
4
u/Bonethgz Jul 01 '22
God damn. US policing really warped my sense of what is justified and what isnât.

59
u/LuckyPlaze Jun 30 '22

I'm usually not on the cops side, but this was pretty tame and justified IMO. In the US these girls would've gotten tazed and maybe shot, or at the very least caught some punches to the face instead of just wristlocks and being knocked to the ground.
→ More replies11
u/TahiniInMyVeins Jun 30 '22
Itâs been ages since Iâve seen a video where I thought the cops handled a situation correctly but this certainly fits the bill, from the extreme patience of the first officer to the justified force of the last officer.
In most rich countries cops gets several years worth of training vs like 5 months here in the states. âDefund the Policeâ sounded cool but a smarter approach would be âActually Train the Police and End Qualified Immunityâ. But that is less catchy and hard to chant.
2
u/SithAlpaca Jul 01 '22
Because those videos don't get FOIAd and put on the internet.

u/streetvoyager Jul 01 '22

u/B1g_Shm0 Jun 30 '22
I can say with absolute certainty no us cop would be written up for this. Although honestly in this case i wouldn't want them to be lol
10
u/sofakingchillbruh Jul 01 '22
Itâs almost apples to oranges. In the US, the first woman would have gotten the shit beat out of her once she shoved the officer.
Like yeah, maybe we say the cops let it go on too long, but it looks like this whole altercation was settled without any serious injuries or death, and that absolutely wouldnât happen in the US.
But nothing here deserves someone being brutally assaulted or even killed imo. The woman are obviously in the wrong and should definitely face charges. But getting drunk and getting physical with a cop shouldnât kill you.
Itâs a thin line to walk, but thatâs why I think training is so important.

3
u/CircleK-Choccy-Milk Jul 01 '22
It's funny if you read the articles, where it says the cop delivered a big flying kick that sent the allegedly 15 year old into the scaffolding. Like huh, I must have missed this giant kick where she just went flying.

u/Made-of-spite Jun 30 '22 edited Jun 30 '22
Maybe not completely justified, but it shouldn't surprise anyone, if you put your hands on a cop they respond physically, escalation of force is how they're trained, they gotta follow the book for better or worse
Also around the 2:20 mark where that lady made a move for something on his belt, I don't think he noticed but damn, that's probably the dumbest thing a person could do
6
u/InFarvaWeTrust Jun 30 '22
The only warning should be to the first cop for not learning how to throw a suspect to the ground and cuff them.
Also the back and forth of âIâm arresting you, now her, etc.â is bloody ridiculous.
That flying kick from the other officer was nothing and I saw several times where the blonde was reaching for his gun. So no, flying kick totally justified.
20
u/SMIDSY Jun 30 '22
the blonde was reaching for his gun
What gun?
2
u/InFarvaWeTrust Jun 30 '22
Mace, whatever was holstered in his right belt slot. Assume holstered things are generally not used to holster Kleenex or puppies.
-9
u/SMIDSY Jun 30 '22
So now there's no gun? That's a big difference if there is no lethal weapon involved in the scuffle.

5
u/ChristianMcCVan Jul 01 '22
I canât believe an officer is getting is getting reprimanded for this. These girls were absolutely out of control and someone finally did something. They should be in jail. Disgraceful lack of support for the officers imo.
5
u/Idontcareaforkarma Jul 01 '22
Looked particularly justified to me.
Wasnât a massive kick, was in the context of the offender preventing an arrest, and the offender was behind/on top of the other officer.
If anything at all, it warrants an official âyeh, not the best way of doing things, particularly if some dickhead is recordingâ from the inspector, maybe a paid day at a use of force refresher course, but nothing like a âfinalâ written warning.

u/insomnimax_99 Jun 30 '22

u/CreamoChickenSoup Jun 30 '22 edited Jun 30 '22
Only a couple brief sentences skimming over the girls' belligerence, and not even a mention of how the girl that was kicked was repeatedly obstructing the cops' struggles to restrain her equally unruly friend, focusing instead on the narrative that the officers were using excessive force. And that's on top of the spelling and grammatical errors.
Got to love how raggedy tabloid journalism is.
3
7
u/Ezekias1337 Jul 01 '22
Lmao, I'm as anti police as it gets, but if you start assaulting the officer first and expect immunity because you're a woman you deserve to be roundhouse kicked
5
u/Amanystya Jun 30 '22
How stupid do you have to be to interfere with a police officer while they're in the middle of making an arrest? If this were America it would have ended completely differently
3
u/1hotrodney Jun 30 '22
Im not good at judging someones age. But they clearly weigh as much as full grown adults soo i would treat them based on size foremost. Each girl weighed more than that first cop that was being way too gentle with them for too long.
5
u/Jack_wilson_91 Jun 30 '22
People underestimate how hard it is to take someone down whoâs resisting without actually hurting them.
That officer probably could have taken either assailant down, but he was trying to do it with the least force required.
Pretty good display of policing if you ask me.
Too bad the degenerate behind the camera just wanted to egg the situation on and incite more violence against the officer.

If this was the US this would have been resolved in 30 seconds, POP, POP, POP, POP, 2 dead suspects, they could have had any kind of weapons, needed to be sure cops were safe.
Guns save lives, every person should have a fully automatic rifle, every country should have nukes, because we need armed good guys to react when bad guys have weapons, but we can't arm good guys without having fairly loose laws to arm everyone, gun control is bullshit, nuclear deals are bullshit, it's the reason why Iran now have nukes, Trump is such a stud I wish he'd ejaculate in my asshole, he tore up the Iran nuclear deal and replaced it with nothing and now the Iran nuclear progamme has advanced ten fold, because it was a bad deal and now the world is safe.

I don't know when It was decided among generations that messing with cops is ok and you can do it without getting your ass beat. Growing up in Brooklyn New York when the cops came around to the park or school yard at night you throw the beer /weed /drugs and run. You hope you don't get caught and if you do you hope all you get Is a small beaten and not a trip to Central bookings. Right or Wrong they will fuck you up. Pulling out an iPhone might get you some evidence but a beaten is coming with it. So if you mouth off once or twice and they let you slide be thankful and walk away.
1
u/Byefellati0 Jul 01 '22
Why was the cop having such a hard time handcuffing a teenage girl đ¤ like wtf
Like that was one of the wildest things Iâve seen.
I was hoping for a little more spin in that kick.
