Just sharing my two minis 10 years apart!
Grieving the loss of my MINI!gallery
I got t-boned last week (everyone is safe!) and my MINI didn’t make it. She took it like a champ, but being off its axel and 11 years old, insurance is totaling it. I’m so broken because I bought this car myself at 17 and just finished paying it off at 22. Hoping to find a new one soon, and if not, I’ll find my way back to MINI Gang soon 💛🖤

Back in the Mini gang after too many years.
Oh how I've missed a Mini.

How much is it worth?
Have a 2015 Mini Roadster S, blew a head gasket with 115k miles. Body is dent free, new top installed by Mini, new tires, brakes...etc

What ever happened to underhood lights?gallery
Looking at this picture I took this past weekend, I realized something I miss from my old BMW E34 535i Dinan.... It had a built in underhood light.
Granted, it was a pitiful little bulb, but it was so simple and logical. It had a little plunger switch under the hinge, just like the ones on the doors, so when you opened the hood, the light came on. It would be nice if it had an on/off switch so you don't drain the battery if the switch goes wonky, but just in general, why don't cars generally have this anymore? A little LED strip would be excellent when you are on the side of the road because you ran over something in the dark.
I've even seen some older cars where it has a corded flashlight in the glovebox that you could plug into an outlet under the hood and hang up or use it to go looking around under the hood. It just made sense, just like the tool storage on the E34, which was a fold down tray on the inside of the trunk(boot) lid right at eye level when the lid was open. And they were ok quality German tools. Even the jack was cool, though it was stored behind the side trim of the trunk(boot) along with a folding tire chalk.

Fresh out of surgery... meet Mario the Mini
My son says when you say it you gotta use the voice ('Oh, Mario')! The rear stickers were his addition to the build.
For a meaner look we went with carbon fiber side lights & handles + blackout headlight rings & grill. (Blackout rings & Union Jack tail lights in the rear)
For a meaner attitude we went with Wilwood front & rears + BC Racing coilovers. Had to upgrade the factory 16's to 17's to fit the new hardware. Konig's wrapped in Toyo Proxes Sport add some stickiness to the road. Stage 3 chip added 50 horses.
Thanks to Chris Hayes @ MyQuickService in Phoenix.
Now... Who wants to go fast?! (Ohhhhh, Mario)!
Fuel choice on a F56 2018 one
I normally use e5 aka unleaded 95. If I was to switch to unleaded 98 in Germany super plus would that make any sense since 95 already gives me all the 102bhp

Whodunnit? (Yes, when I edit my videos I play Borat whenever a MINI is on there)

Okay, so my Mini finally got loaded onto a ship and I was given the vessel name. Based on what I was given, it got picked up in Belgium. Does that make sense? I would have expected it got picked up somewhere in England.
Trying to make sense of all the data on Vessel tracking sites is just making my head hurt :)

R60 WV winter restoration project update:gallery
Progress has been made!
Still outstanding jobs for this evening:
-install new rear control arm bolts
-install new rear brake sheilds
-reinstall rear brakes
-reinstall fender liners
-torque new rear axle nuts (had to wait for rear brakes to counter hold)
-put the wheels back on
-vacuum test the new cooling system
-fill with coolant and oil
-bimmercode for all the new LED lights (headlights, fogs, DRLs, side markers, tail lights. Rally lights don't need coding)

Project “re-Cooper-ation” is underway. Clutch finally got to a point where it’s gotta be replaced, so while I’m in there she’s getting new mounts, sensors, gaskets, suspension, the works. I’m gonna be sad not driving her for a while but I can’t wait to feel the difference on the road.

Blind Spot Camera?
Switching over to a MINI clubman soon and will miss my blind spot camera that I currently have on my Honda civic! 10 years of a convenience might make for a hard habit to break and I really do use it for merging on highways, etc.
Wondering if anyone has installed or had someone install a blind spot camera? I did found something simple and looked great online but it isn’t comparable with MINIs!

The MINI versus Pizza for an Army
How many large pizza boxes have y'all been able to fit in your car? (I drive a 2020 Cooper Hardtop)
I'm president of a club and am the one with the money - I tend to go pick up the food because I have the card to get the food...
I picked up Chick-fil-A most recently for 200 people and .................. IT FIT. but it was tight...
So pizza boxes this time around - planning for less people (I'm thinking we're gonna have ~50 people), so it'll be about 20-25 pizzas, plus 12-15 sides of breadsticks)
Y'all think it'll fit? Or do I need to ask someone else to pick up the food? Or see if the pizza spot we pick can deliver it? (Although I feel like delivery drivers' car aren't usually much bigger than mine)
I feel like y'all will understand that part of me REALLYYYYYYY wants to test the waters a bit ... my car may be mini, but it's mighty! ........ gotta flex a little sometimes... bahaha
I'm also down for "here's my flex" stories of just how much crap you've all fit into your MINIs! I wish I would have gotten a pic of the Chick-fil-A in there - bahaha - it was quite impressive!!

Is adding the iconic 'S' to a Base model frowned upon?
I know that adding an M to a BMW or an AMG badge to a Merc is surely a no-no but maybe MINI folks are a bit less .......well, you know.

2014 Mini Cooper Countryman
I’m interested in purchasing one.
It’s listed at $12,700+ with 74,490 miles.
I heard they break down majorly after 100k+ miles and won’t be able to afford major repairs in the thousands.
What are some things I need to consider as I’m having it shipped and should I reconsider?

2013 Countryman S (F60?) maintenance schedule
I know basically nothing about car maintenance, let alone for Minis. I know you can google maintenance schedules but the ones that the dealerships give are really extensive. I know Minis need a lot of maintenance still but I'm wondering if there's a more simplified schedule that is still realistically going to keep everything good.
Prior to today (when I found out the air filter hadn't been replaced since 2019 and was causing problems) I basically only knew that you had to get oil changed. So I'm a bit overwhelmed about where to go from here.
EDIT: R60 not F60 lol

Intake manifold not loose?
(2013 r56 n16) Replacing my crossover pipe and following along with a few different YouTube videos.
I removed the 5 bolts holding the intake manifold on. But I can’t move it back to access the crossover pipe. The thing won’t budge. Not even a little. Might as well be welded on.

Another cooper question
I have a 2012 mini Cooper. There’s water stock r56 and I’ve been looking for a windshield wiper switch for my steering wheel. I can only find a combination switch is there anyway to just get the normal windshield wiper switch by itself. When I was looking up the part, I found they had that option for the r53 and a couple other models any help would be appreciated. Been driving without windshield wipers for a couple weeks.

Deer got me, any idea how much this would be to fix?gallery
2013 Mini Cooper Clubman, the damage to the car is just the dent and headlight cover got ripped off. Runs the same as before, I've already filed with my insurance but im wondering how much it would be to repair without. Thank you in advance

First time AutoXing
Ran my R50 for the first time today. I was able to improve on every lap and didn’t break anything, so it was a good day. Anyone else auto cross?

New to the familygallery
‘13 R58 N18 6 speed manual.
I love everything about this car. My previous vehicle was a ‘13 Beetle TDI Convertible.
