Another user in this thread has brought up an important point regarding self identification, and I think it's important to make sure we're all clear on it.

If you're going to refer to the shooter, please be sure to address them properly, as The Terrorist

Thank you for helping us out with this endeavour, and thank you for using JusticeServed

u/mintidubs 2 3d ago

stop calling them "suspects" for christ sake

u/Jenna2k 7 6d ago

I hope he doesn't get the death penalty AKA an out. He's going to die eventually if he doesn't but he deserves to be miserable first. We all die in the end and he should be in prison a long time first. Give him the best medical treatment in existence every time he is hurt so he can do as much time as possible before he gets his out.

4

u/Ill_Ichi 3 3d ago

I think a big part of the death penalty punishment is knowing that you're sentenced to death and don't know when. The reaper is just looming over your head the whole time while you get shit on in prison. This POS deserves it and more.

3

u/Jenna2k 7 3d ago

They don't? I mean once appeals are done they set a date.

3

u/Ill_Ichi 3 3d ago

From what I understand death row inmates can spend years, possibly decades, waiting for their death day. I think they only know the day when it's close. Like a few days to a week away.

5

u/jimmy537627 0 6d ago

While I do agree that's its a easy out. I do hope he gets the death penalty. On average a inmate on death row spends over a decade waiting for execution. Why should he get to live his life on the dime of taxpayers for what could be 20, 30, 40 years. And the death penalty would give closure to the victims and their families. For example the families of the victims in parkland FL wanted the death penalty but that SOB got life and the families are upset because he gets to live his life albeit in prison.

3

u/Jenna2k 7 6d ago

Idk I mean his death won't bring the victims back. It's just another hope but in the end vengeance can't fix the pain he caused. I hate people like him.

5

u/Jenna2k 7 6d ago

I love that the people he thought of as less than him fought him and won. He had a gun and still got beat up. Totally justified to.

What are you talking about?

2

u/vreeslewe 5 1d ago

What are you even talking about, bud?

8

u/reasonably_paranoid 0 6d ago

You really fit the stereotype of a middle-aged white republican who calls himself Christian but also goes online to send creepy texts to young women and hate on Lgbtq+.

16

u/dabellwrites 6 10d ago

People still talk about Obama.

7

u/Great-Moon-Ape 5 10d ago

This should be the policy whenever they are apprehended, the public should get 1-5 min alone with him before he sees the cell.

8

u/Capable_Professor329 4 10d ago

I would’ve given him cauliflower ears for good taste.

12

u/Mattylovestrouble 6 11d ago

He got off lucky. It’s more than he deserves imo

1

u/ledgerdemaine 9 11d ago

If that is acne they look like every redditor I ever imagined.

3

u/Diogenic_Seer 11d ago

So why support death penalty if cases like this?

Look at the cost effectiveness at the death penalty. It isn’t there.

You don’t need to respect anyone on death row to advocate against it.

Also am I the only person who finds using death row inmates as having an optional slavery as more humane?

People have historically chosen slavery over death. Hey, at least one of those options feeds money back into the system! The acquired funds even could be setup to benefit anti-hate crime groups. I genuinely would find something like that to be a better way of tipping the scales.

It’s what I would personally choose if I got caught for mass murder. It at least gives a way for a person to choose karma for this life or to leave it for death and whatever they believe it entails to decide.

This is coming from someone with queer tendencies that has kind of started avoiding queer gatherings more due to this spike of targeted violence.

If it stopped anything, I would only stand to benefit from making an example of killers like this. I just don’t think that logical train actually goes anywhere.

I’m not say I’m certain I know what’s best, but I never feel like I can rationalize with the comment section on these kind of posts.

I genuinely feel less safe in a system designed with ‘dead ends’ in mind.

6

u/globguy85 0 9d ago

I agree with you to a degree.....but no mercy for murderers, especially mass shooters. Or rapists. These are the "dead ends" that are necessary to keep ourselves safe.

3

u/Diogenic_Seer 9d ago

Even my stone cold murderous authoritarian streak sees resources to mine. Killing the population is meaningless when you can just control the people.

My warm collectivist libertarian is firm that mercy is always a given. There is yin in yang. Even Hitler has a working body. You just need to keep his mind without release. There are slavery conditions that are even worse than death. Is that still mercy?

Revenge has no merit beyond the tickling of the ego. And it isn’t even good for it. It just twists it up snd warps the perception of what actually physically works.

The ability for a system to execute individuals with no way out can be more easily twisted around when the small minded seize power.

Not to mention mass murder can be in the collective’s self-interest. John Brown was a mass murderer.

The guys goal was to free the slaves. We have somewhere in between 20-30 dead we can pin on the man.

He was a mass murderer but he was in the name of helping a minority group he held no stake in. A man like that would still be victorious if he was enslaved.

An idiot club shooter likely fears the chains of slavery more than death. People behave like that to restate theitr ideal order on the world. Bending them against it gives them a mercy they never desired. I find it hilarious. People like that would rather eat their own shit before serving another.

Having queer people stomp his testicles away with high heeled bootswhile mocking his masculinity would be worse than death than him. You could follow up by calmly informing him of what the loss

If you seek vengeance, murder is boring and utterly tame.

Why not leave the binary of life and death a bit more open ended for crimes against the people. Art only comes out when you leave a little wiggle room. I’m pretty sure queer people tend like avoiding binaries and tend to prefer making a show of things. I know I do. Death just interrupts a good show.

This photo just made my day. Sadly it has to be involved in such a horrific act. Death penalty please. Most people don’t realize that if a person isn’t convicted to death then he can actually have a life in prison versus the death penalty where he literally rots in a cell 23 hours a day for however many years it takes to put this bastard down

1

u/Jenna2k 7 6d ago

How about death penalty but never carry it out? He doesn't deserve an out. He should have to live the rest of his life in prison. Besides he will die in the end either way so might as well let him be miserable a while first.

2

u/jimmyjames0100 6 3d ago

Yeh but lock him up in solitary confinement 23 hours a day with zero rec time

1

u/Jenna2k 7 3d ago

That sounds good to me.

4

u/SpottyTwerp 2 11d ago

I agree. This fuck is not going to do well in prison, life without the possibility of parole is a much better punishment for them than death. On death row they would get a bunch of automatic appeals, get special treatment and a lot of attention which is what they desire. Locked up anonymously for the rest of their lives in gen pop in a miserable prison is a better punishment these terrorists.

4

u/I-Like-Art-And-Drugs 7 11d ago

I don’t believe in capital punishment, but if he had died from his wounds I wouldn’t be sad.

I am disapointed that we still see his features. I'd like his face to be soup.

19

u/LifeIsABeautifulTrip 5 11d ago

They need to make an example of terrorist. Once convicted they need to hold like public stoning or something where they absolutely suffer. Something so bad that hopefully it would make these “humans” think twice before doing such awful acts of terrorism. Thank you to the brave hero’s who stopped more deaths this night.

5

u/Master_Status5764 4 11d ago

I think they tried that for thousands of years, doesn’t seem to stop criminals from doing criminal shit.

1

u/josh5300 5 11d ago

I have to be inclined to agree, I think we’re at a point where regular punishment isn’t cutting it for these types of heinous acts

1

u/LifeIsABeautifulTrip 5 11d ago

I just don’t know how we got so many people who have committed such terrible acts. I just want to do something that would maybe help stop them :(.

1

An infinitesimal fraction of what he deserved.

I will never understand hate crimes like this...who gives a fuck what anybody does as long as they don't hurt others.

3

u/Captain_Collin 7 11d ago

That's the thing, they're all buying into the lie pushed by right-wing propaganda that all LGBTQ people are grooming children. So in their view, the violence is justified in order to stop a horrendous crime. I'd like to see the victims families and the survivors of the terrorist attack in Colorado sue Tucker Carlson, FAUX News, and anybody else pushing the "Groomer" conspiracy for inciting violence.

1

u/sailor1989 6 11d ago

This person identifies as non-binary. They are literally part of the lgbtq+ community. Don’t push a narrative when we don’t know yet.

2

u/DishonoredUndead 6 11d ago

Or to mock the victims and the community. I take solace in the fact that they stomped him so hard they gave him a profile like Bigfoot's head.

1

u/Yougotredditonyou 6 11d ago

Yeah hopefully his head was normal-shaped before the stiletto stomping. Now it’s shaped like, well… you see it.

3

u/Sairac25 6 11d ago

Well thing is if police did that it would be police brutality all over the news, they get shit on no matter what they do or don't do

20

u/Purpleman101 6 11d ago

What? If the police beat a dude that just murdered 5 people, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of people would be fine with it.

People cry police brutality when a kid is walking away from cops and gets shot in the back, not when a mass murderer gets their ass beat.

8

u/Mode3 7 11d ago

He got beat by patrons of the club, not the police.

2

u/Sairac25 6 11d ago

That's my point, he got beat up by patrons, they are regarded as heroes, but when a cop use a takedown on someone is brutality

1

u/Mode3 7 11d ago

Oh ok

3

*Woman

3

u/Ok_Mission_3168 4 11d ago

The original poster was right. According to multiple news sources, it was a drag queen, i.e. a male performer who dresses in a woman's costume to entertain customers in a club. Trans women don't consider themselves performers or entertainers; they don't consider their clothing a costume or disguise. A drag queen acknowledges being a man in women's clothing. A trans women does not. It's not a difficult distinction to grasp.

4

u/minkymy 9 11d ago

Wait, was the shooter stomped by a drag queen or a trans woman?

3

u/napstablook12 7 11d ago

By a trans woman

1

u/minkymy 9 11d ago

She's a hero.

1

u/napstablook12 7 11d ago

Absolutely, she deserves the recognition for her bravery

19

u/sugarybooger 1 11d ago

Are you sure the person in drag identifies as a woman? Drag does not equal trans. It’s a costume and character, not an identity.

15

u/squibbysnacks 5 11d ago

I also heard that it was a drag queen, not trans woman. If they are a drag queen, then they would still identify as a man. But I may have been misinformed.

4

u/ariusec 3 11d ago

-2

u/ariusec 3 11d ago

Yeah, but I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about why you need to say it's a trans woman. It's a woman. Period

1

u/napstablook12 7 11d ago

Ah, I gotcha. That’s valid. I only mentioned she’s trans because it clarifies the confusion people had about her not being a drag queen. Trans women are absolutely women.

I haven’t delved into this story yet so I don’t know all the particulars other than he shot up a nightclub. Judging by the picture, someone best the fuck out of him. That pleases me. Honestly kinda wish they would have beaten the fucking thing to death. I abhor violence but if you’re the type to shoot innocent people in such a way, then as far as I’m concerned you are irredeemable and have nothing to offer society.

36

u/jtfff 9 11d ago

He shot up an LGBT club with an AR-15 and body armor. Former army vet disarmed him and pistol whipped him repeatedly while a trans woman stomped on him while wearing heels.

The shooter is a known homophobe, was raised Mormon, hie mother is part of the GOP, and his dad is a porn star convicted of multiple felonies. During the preliminary hearings, he stated that he is non-binary, and even his friends have said it’s a ploy to dodge hate crime charges.

In response to finding out about the shooting, this is what his dad had to say: “And then I go on to find out it's a gay bar. I said, 'God, is he gay?' I got scared, 'Shit, is he gay?' And he's not gay, so I said, 'Phhhewww...'"

No the worst part is he killed people you fucking weirdo moron Jesus Christ

1

u/BCjestex 4 11d ago

Wrongly worded my bad people can't make mistakes I guess

Should of said the other shitty part

16

u/igotacoochie 3 11d ago

The worst part is he went into a club meant to be a safe place for the LGBT+ community and felt it was his right to try and kill those people, robbing them of their safe space. He could have heartbreaking motivations, they could even help us understand why he wound up on the path he did. Whether it was insecurity, bigotry, or pure whim, the motive lead him to plan out an attack on a designated safe space for an oft targeted community so he could hurt that community. That’s a hate crime. It’s terrorism.

There’s value in learning these monsters stories so we can work to prevent this, and hopefully we as a society can learn from it to ensure those places remain safe havens and that people like this terrorist can be removed from whatever environment built him so there will be less terrorists in the future.

But to say that’s the worst part? The families and friends enduring their first Thanksgiving mere days after losing their loved ones because of this guys actions? That’s worse. The trauma the survivors will have to carry, that’s worse. The sense of safety that’s been stolen from thousands of people across the country wondering “will my town be next? My store, club, school, park, street be next?” That’s worse. Everything this man has forced those people to have to carry with them is worse than whatever sad story might have created him.

1

u/rangeo A 11d ago

6

u/SenorSnout 6 11d ago

Brutality from the people the guy was actively trying to murder in cold blood, you mean? Cause the cops didn't do that shit.

21

u/KHSebastian 6 11d ago

As far as I understand it, this was a beating he got from club goers, not the police.

8

u/maybeslightlystoopid 6 11d ago

Police didn't do that, people at the club did. Police actually handcuffed and kept the person that mainly did this in a cop car for little over an hour too.

1

u/Bildad__ 6 9d ago

It seems the point of my post went over your head. The title to this post implies the civilians severed justice by beating this guy, as opposed to police taking other mass shooters into custody with “kid gloves”. Hence my question about Reddit actually wanting police brutality

12

u/the_nutter_butter 7 11d ago

hes not really a suspect so much as the definitive killer

7

u/JonesyAndReilly 7 11d ago

Although he is, by all accounts, clearly appearing to be guilty, it’s important to maintain “suspect” status until he admits guilt/is found guilty. Obviously nobody is going to argue with you because you’d be stupid to try and defend the pos. But it’d have to potential to either turn into a very slippery slope of labeling people as guilty until proven innocent, or creating legal issues in the convoluted system that could potentially create favorable conditions for the accused.

Like I said, I hate this shithead just like everyone else. I just think it’s important to remember that we have a system and everyone’s “innocent until proven guilty” so we can keep the mobs at bay in less clear cut scenarios

But I guess Liberty University needs to fill its quota of the pig headed and insufferable to maintain its image.

Wow.

"Advanced past high school" is the correct phrase. It notes that you have entered higher education. Which, for you, is probably no better than a third rate CDL truckers school

Enjoy living in poverty.

Tell that to your Liberty University bretheren.

Or did you get your alleged degree at some bible college in the Midwest?

I have no patience for those like you who somehow want to continue the dumbing down of America. I've seen your prior comments there, slick. Your right to speak should have been revoked as soon as you considered the restraint of this worthless human being a "commie mob."

But I wouldn't expect anything more from a Conservative, Mormon, Homophobic sympathizer.

Police didn't do that, people at the club did. Police actually handcuffed and kept the person that mainly did this in a cop car for little over an hour too.
